  1. Oh Man. I am living through the same thing. I wish her a speedy recovery and getting back to health quickly. My daughter is 14 and has been playing soccer since she was 5. Last Nov she rolled her ankle and got it stepped on while playing in a tournament on turf. Her ankle was very swollen and we took her to the Dr who said she sprained it. Her follow up appt the Dr told her she could play, it was up to her, she wasn't going to damage her ankle it would just be sore. So she missed two weeks and was back on the field for the rest of the year. She even ran track while playing soccer this past spring. She would get done with soccer and track and her ankle would be swollen but she would swear up and down that it didn't hurt. When school and sports ended her ankle didn't bother her. She didn't play anything for about a month. But then went and played pickup soccer with her friends and her ankle was very swollen again. That didn't seem right too me after a month of rest. Took her to an orthopedic who took xrays and then sent her for an MRI. Her tendons and ligaments in her ankle were destroyed. The way the Dr. explained it her ankle bone is straight and it is supposed to be curved. This allowed her ligaments and tendons to slide off the bone and be out of place which ultimately destroyed them. She had surgery on 8/22 to have her ligaments replaced and her ankle bone reshaped so that could not happen again. Hopefully it will be a 100% recovery but it is killing her to be missing soccer. She is going to all the games and most of the practices but obviously can't do a thing since she is still on crutches. Last week she just went from a cast to a boot. I think she thinks she is going to be able to get right back too it as soon as the boot comes off. I feel for her and I think I miss watching her play as much as she misses playing....
  2. 20 yds on a target.....about 1" float.....20 yds on a nice deer shaking like a leaf....20" of float give or take....
  3. Good luck, he looks like a brute....
  4. I got one in the mail this year....Never did it before. I am going to try and complete it. Hopefully I will have more than a bunch of saw nothings to fill in....
  5. Don't like hearing about all the wounded deer but love this thread, the stories and the many happy endings! Good luck and have a great season!
  6. That's awesome. I lost my wallet over 20 years ago. I don't remember how much money I had but it was significant enough that I was really upset. It was in my mail box the next day. Nothing missing and money all accounted for.....I have no idea who found it or put it there.
  7. I am 2-2....3-3 if you count crossbow....Small sample size but 100%
  8. My daughters first couple weeks of kindergarten were a nightmare....I had to fight her to get her on the bus...plop her in the seat, put the seatbelt on all with her kicking and screaming that she didn't want me to leave her....Then I had to run off the bus before she could unbuckle and catch me. It was heart wrenching....and that bus driver was a saint for dealing with her the first couple of weeks. She is starting 9th grade tomorrow
  9. If you can get that R6 to run anywhere even remotely close to a 10.54 then you are one hell of a rider. I am at Lebonan Valley all the time and there are tons of liter bikes that race all the time that don't run that number. Getting a good 60ft time on a bike is very hard to do and that first 60ft means everything in a quarter mile. I have a CBR 1000 and a 2003 Z06. Of course the bike is faster but in a quarter mile (I have raced them both) I get down the track faster in the Z. Car 1.5xx 60 ft.....Bike 2.2xx 60 ft and I have been riding a long time.... I wouldn't bet racing WNY's hell cat with either my car or my bike....
  10. That's what I do.....That rubber sucks to get off......you will notice you have black flecks everywhere on the car...not just behind the tires.... Mothers makes a rubber remover... https://www.amazon.com/Mothers-09224-Racing-Rubber-Remover/dp/B005R5WGCS/ref=asc_df_B005R5WGCS/?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid={creative}&hvpos={adposition}&hvnetw=o&hvrand={random}&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl={devicemodel}&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584207577280206&psc=1 It works fairly well.....so does WD40
  11. Wow, I can't believe I never updated this thread with the result. I just reread the whole thing because I was sure I did. Sorry about that... Yes, I have been hunting with the new BAR and it has killed a few deer over the last 4 years including the big 9 in my avatar. It holds a group of 2 1/2 to 3 inches at 100 yds consistently no matter what ammo I try. While I would love this to be better it is acceptable to me. I knew purchasing an autoloader it was not going to be as accurate as a bolt gun but thought it would be a little better than that. My old Remington 600 .308 from the 60's will hold a tighter group. I still love the gun and it is what I always grab to go deer hunting.....
  12. That is really awesome.....great job....Hopefully the pooch is ok....
  13. If you took that mower deck off before taking the pic it could be a postcard....
  14. These posts for some reason always bring a tear to my eye. Nothing harder than saying goodbye to mans best friend. If there aren't dogs in heaven, I don't want to go....So sorry for your loss....RIP Trico...
  15. I don't know how I missed this post previously but congrats!!! Nothing better than Daddys girl....
  16. Would I shoot them? Is that a trick question?
  17. Looks like a beautiful spot to sit out and enjoy a beer!
  18. Cool story, thanks for sharing, I love reading stuff like this.....So sorry to hear about your father...
  19. LMAO at the picture in my mind of you creeping up on your neighbor while he was mowing!
  20. The problem with all these laws is, laws don't make idiotic people less idiotic. Or criminal less criminal for that matter. I have been boating my whole life. I used to sit on my dads lap and steer the boat. Got my own 16ft Sportcraft with a 60HP Merc before I was out of highschool. I bought a 1988 Sea Ray with a downpayment from my Graduation money when I graduated in 1991. I was really annoyed that I had to take a boating course to legally ride a jet ski sometime in the late 90's when I had already been boating and riding jet skis since I was old enough to see out of a windshield. I have never come close to having an incident on the water. WNY, you keep saying that you need to pass a drivers test for a car and I agree with what you are saying. But a written test or course you have to pass online isn't going to change the fact that a moron is a moron. IMO it is just another hoop for people to jump through and for the lawmakers to say they did something. For instance how is a person taking a course online going to learn that a boat doesn't have brakes, or that tides current and wind all play a roll when you are trying to dock or load your boat on a trailer. Or how to deal with an oncoming vessel while you are trying to keep your boat headed into the waves. A book can teach you port, starboard, forward and aft, red right returning, no wake zones etc but it can't teach you how to boat. Now if they want to give an actual test like a driving test.....where you have to drive your boat to a ramp, back up the trailer, launch your boat, dock the boat and put it back on the trailer and they are going to actually fail people and not allow them to operate a boat when they can't accomplish this, then maybe we could get rid of the idiots on the water....and maybe I could again use a public boat launch....
  21. Well my mom just turned 70 in July and my Dad isn't that far behind so suddenly 70 doesn't seem that old. I want to live as long as I am able to enjoy life. I am not sure what enjoying life will mean for me 30 years from now but I watched my grandmother live to long. She had to leave her house that she lived in for almost 70 years to go into assisted living, wasn't able to do a whole lot for herself, and went from one of the most cheerful loveable people that I have ever been around to being quite depressed about needing assistance and not being able to take care of herself. She actually told me that she has lived too long and was more than ready to move on. That was probably the saddest thing I have ever heard. She lived for about another two years and it was difficult to watch. I hope I am gone before that point.... I am 46, I remember not that long ago thinking 30 was old and 40's were my parents....really old...lol.
  22. I wouldn't be wondering how old that guy is until after he is on the ground....I would be more concerned with getting crosshairs or a pin on his vitals....Nice looking deer!
  23. If any of you guys have ever purchased a backpack for your son or daughter you would think those prices are quite reasonable considering the protection with this. It is sad that I even have to think about such things but one of these might be in the cards for my daughter this fall. She is going into highschool this year. I never even knew there was an option for something like this and I would like to believe it would never be needed but now that I know, I am going to consider it. Actually what I am thinking at the moment is what can it hurt. $50-$75 bucks for a regular name brand back pack or a little more for something like this. I am going to read a little more about those inserts that look like they will go in any backpack as well. Thank you for posting.....
  24. That to me is ridiculous, with all the private/unaccessable hunting land out there, there is no way we hunters could put that big a dent in the statewide coyote population. They should be treated like red squirrels....
