  1. Do I qualify as a sharpshooter? Where do I get a suppressed rifle? Feel like I'm missing all the fun!
  2. I've been fortunate enough to kill a few decent bucks in my life time. If I were to never kill another one I would still be out there trying. It's who I am. Not what I do. I'll go until I can't go anymore. And there is always a bigger one out there somewhere!

    LayOff

Hang in there. Hope the layoff is very short. If ya need anything, just PM me. If I can help I will.
  4. Welcome! There is a bunch of us long time bow hunters here. Although I do most of my hunting from the ground now. I still love watching the woods wake up in the morning, and go to sleep in the evening. Glad you decided to stop by! Pull up a seat and join right in! Look forward to hearing from you.
  5. I read the book a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed it! Can't wait to see the movie. My youngest grandson wants to see it with me, so we will go this weekend. Jeremiah Johnson is one of my all time favorites!
  6. I never liked you. First you marry my sister, then you kill MY deer! C'mon man.
  7. Regardless of score or age, that is one awesome buck! Congratulations, again!
  8. Get a bag target made for crossbows. It will stop the bolts and be easy to pull them out. A sling will make it easier to carry to your stand. A shooting stick bipod will give you a nice steady rest. I have Promo's trigger stick bipod, and love it! Keep the string and rail lubed. And mostly, just have fun with your new crossbow! They are great fun to shoot!
  9. The new snow should show you tracks and recent activity, of the local coyote's. Best of luck to you on your next hunt!
  10. Now that the jackpot is over one billion, I may be able to afford a couple thousand acres in Iowa, with a modest log home.
  11. Had about two inches a couple weeks ago. That's it. Been a great winter so far!!!!
  12. He was quite an innovator in music and style. But the make up and frilly shirts were not my style. His music, only so so for me, but very popular back in the day. RIP Mr. Bowie.
  13. Not the way I'd prefer to go though.
  14. Just getting started calling yotes too. We decided to start with daytime hunting. Then when we gain a bit more experience, try it at night. Last weekend, first set up, called in five and got one. Will get out again next weekend. Hope to get a couple. Best of luck to you!
  15. What was that kickers name? Shankaponomus?
  16. Whoever made the list, has never been to the Schoharie Valley.
  17. Nice backyard view! Great flock of tom's and jakes too! Looks like a nice place to enjoy a morning cup o'joe.
  18. Even second place has to be a good chunk of change!
  19. Thank you for sharing this with us! Those bygone days and hunts are so interesting to read and hear about. You have a very precious gift from your Dad, in that journal.
  20. At my age I'm Don Juan. After Juan, I am Don.
  21. Got the tip up's and jigging poles all set to go! But with over an inch of rain in the forecast for tomorrow, it will be awhile before I get to use them. And I'm one of those sissy's that doesn't venture on the ice, until I see snowmobiles and atv's out there first. Having fun hunting coyotes, for now though.
  22. Hiding in plain sight isn't so much about the camo pattern, as it is, about a frame of mind. lol...
  23. Awesome job! Really nice work! You definitely have a talent for taxidermy. The love of your work really shows.
  24. Now that I've put a few years behind me, I've learned to hide in plain sight if need be! ????
