Scary sharp broadheads are undervalued in my opinion. I am striving to get mine ridiculously sharp this year.

I think your prediction is wrong. Here is mine. Trump will loose the election but not accept the results. The republican party is going to support him. Then he will install himself as president for as long as he cares to be,then maybe hand it over to his son. Is that a dictatorship? you will be free to work and keep your mouth shut if you disagree with him. You can keep your guns and live happily everafter.

Switching to Fixed Blade with new string
BowmanMike replied to UpStateRedNeck's topic in Bow Hunting
I am shooting a grizzlystik samurai two blade single bevel this year. No reports yet. Last year i shot montecs and also got poor blood trails, both were less than perfect shots though. Both recovered, but i got lucky. -
I got a 7M as my 2nd choice. If i dont get one there during bow you can have my dmp.
-
I got my license online today and also scored two dmp tags. October here i come!!!

steel version? you can have mine for free

As the lions mane matures the mane gets longer. When young they look more like cauliflower. The bitter finish is odd,i have not had that problem.

Of course you can shoot what you want, but why risk the arrow blowing up on release? That would not be my choice,no matter if they flew like honing missiles.
-
You are underspined with that much weight up front for sure. I shoot 60# at 29.5" DL with a 300 spine arrow with 100 gr insert and 125 gr head. Dont risk one of those arrows blowing up on you.
-
Cut the fletching of one arrow and see where that lands compared to the fletched ones at 15 yds. My favorite method to check my bows and my forms tune.
-
A few years ago my string was going bad which i didnt realize since it looked ok. That threw everything off on a weekly basis. I tried to re-adjust stuff and never got good arrow flight. I know to change my strings at least every two years now with the amount of arrows i shoot.

Wrong approach to high foc. A high gpi number is bad for that. In my opinion you would be better off shooting a lighter arrow with higher foc than a heavy arrow with low foc.

@Swamp_bucks,i was hesitant opening this,i thought something went wrong with the new bow, haha.

Hey,i just re- watched some of your videos the other day. Good job on the channel.

First good doe gets it. We have a ton of them around,i am not worried about one or two less for the bucks to chase. I will be hunting some public and private land this year,so i am not worried about burning any one spot out.
-
Thanks for posting that,i think you have your spot figured out.

Here's some food for thought. I heard this year for the first time how bucks have a tendency to show up in the same area at almost the exact time every year. I listened to some podcasts with the guys who own exodus cameras and they of course run a huge amount of cameras. One of them said he goes back to last years camera pics around the rut to see which area will be hot that week. Then i heard a guy on another podcast mention that some researchers at a university found that the same doe will go into heat almost to the day every year. Another finding was that that doe passes that estrus date on to her offspring. And generally these doe families stay together and in the same area. So now i think that the bucks have that figured out fairly quickly as well and check those areas when the time is right. So if you guys have camera data or notes on when you saw does in heat go back to that area around the same time. I will definetely give that a try and keep better records from now on.

Here is the way i see the tree climbing thing as far as mobile set ups go. A climber will be the easiest to learn but heaviest to carry long distance. It also has the most restrictions on what tree you can use. A hang on and some climbing sticks will take some getting used to,at least the stick part. This setup will be a little lighter and the options for which tree to climb are greater. A saddle will be the lightest option but you have to figure out a climbing method, which in my opinion is the hardest part as there are so many. Depending on the climbing method you can get in just about any tree. So i think i placed the options in the right order as far as time you have to spend to practice getting good at them. Climber is easiest, saddle is hardest in up front time and probably money invested. As @squirrelwhisperer said, you have to decide what fits your hunting style best.

I can attest that is has to be aluminum. I had the steel version of the summit viper and it clocked in at 30× #.

Wow,what a bachelor group that is. Good luck connecting on one of them. personally i wouldn't care which one.

I think the biggest bucks will only be seeking on the edges of the rut, otherwise they will always be with a doe. So many does to be had, they dont have to look far when the majority are in heat. But if there are only a few hot does around it is different. So i vote for the earlier slot. I think late October is a great time as well.
