  1. "Fatal" Motor vehicle accidents were up over the 40,000 mark in 2017 -
  2. that crow has more signs on it than the thruway! No wonder the other crows beat him up! Crow bullying.
  3. true but where a person tends to panic and make a wrong decision a computer will not and will correct the vehicle and brake and steer as they should mechanically.
  4. The latest update in vehicle tech will be that vehicles will talk to each other. They will know proximity and speed of the vehilces nearby before they get too close and anticipate their moves ahead of time.
  5. More and more tech. I even had to take down Moogs painting from my refrigerator cause of technology!
  6. Agreed these things are going to happen but I think the push will come from ins companies for corporations. Motor vehicle accidents were up over 40,000 in 2017 and have risen the last 6 years. And over half a million people were injured due to distracted drivers. It will all come to a numbers game. What is overall safer? That a computer cannot predict a person out of the norm to the way people are driving now. Aggressive drivers, distracted drivers....it will be interesting to see how fast it might or might not be integrated. I think it will happen in our lifetimes and be a norm.
  7. i dont think its mostly because the parents dont hunt. My buddies each have quite a few kids and out of 10 kids only one is interested in hunting at all. I just think there are so many options out there today. And technology is more prevalant and cool. Kids get more looked down upon some to be hunters, kids fit in better with peers that are into technology. Parents are also more open to letign kids do what interests them than the old .... the whole family is going. I think kids with parents that hunt def have a better chance of becoming interested in it but dont think its the major cause of any hunting number decline as much as a culture change .
  8. I am in the transportation field and am curious what people think of autonomous vehicles. There was just a recent fatality involving one that hit a pedestrian in Arizona. I think the outcome of this will be watched very closely to see if lawsuits are filed. But i see these becoming prevalent in the not too distant future within 10 years. The argument will be that there is no human error. No texting, driving drunk or sleepy drivers, no distracted drivers, no drivers with slow reflexes or attitude, no drivers that dont know the laws of the road etc. With increase in the use of cell phones social media etc (teenagers are reported to be on social media 9 hours a day) the use of personal technology is increasing and therefore the use of it while driving is also increasing. The pitch for this to increase will be that it actually will be proven to be statistically safer. This fatality occurred because of a jaywalker so they can slant it to be their fault. What autonomous cars cant predict is the randomness of peoples decisions such as running across the road, where a driver can react to this a little better, this will also be the base reason to have more of them on the road. We have talked about these things in the field for many years. Including a pod car service in larger cities - which Uber seems to be a start for this, to someday you will buy a "car service" and not a car. One day everyones grand kids might say " you used to drive?" Look at the technology leaps we have seen in our lifetimes already. The use and innovation of technology is an exponential one due to the fact that the more advanced tech becomes the easier it is to create more.
  9. My gf backs out of the driveway one morn here with here denali and leaves the plastic guard on the front that goes across the front of the truck and the fog lights laying in my driveway. She ripped it off backing out going over the snowbank. I ask her if she wants her truck parts back and she says what truck parts....didn't even know. Lol. But guess she drives a big vehicle to be able to run over things and not know.
  10. I took a charter in Florida out for grouper. We caught on little one and two other fish that i don't know what they were . But I went fishing off the beach at night with shrimp and could've filled 2 coolers with whiting. Had a great time. And it didn't hardly cost a thing.
  11. I've already got a plan to bombard the other site with the Chinese Russians. I will be damned if you all will leave me here with my low self esteem crying in my pillow.
  12. No one is taking out Cuomo it's not even a discussion. She isn't taking the nomination away from him and the Republicans have nothing but a mess in NY. King Cuomo isn't going anywhere. Only way is if some corruption comes out from this latest trial. The dem nomination, 30 mil for campaigning and a downstate lock. He is here to stay, sucks for upstate again.
  13. suburban is also a good option - they are proven Town and country vans are known for tranny issues. but pricetag is a lot less.
  14. my GF has a Yukon Denali. She bought it used and it seems to have been reliable for her. I have driven it and it is nice to drive for sure. There are too many electronic gadgets in it for me, but runs and drives nice.
  15. Venison jalapeño sausage and perogies.... So full! Damn that was good
  16. right ...... i tried to contest it that it was a moose! til he dropped my rack and lost it under the counter. I took the $60 and went home
  17. maybe like a pity cam...... I once won $60 in a big buck contest...........for the smallest buck
  18. seriously i feel like this! need spring at this point. Im like a sad dog looking out the window!
  19. and then 2 slings and 4 boxes of ammo for each ....... so much for saving money- lol
  20. have no idea how to point this out (not real computer savvy) but i would look at the lower middle area in white just to the top left of that first little pond. right near where the elevation starts and that little bump of it sticks out. but really tough to tell. I would generally always start with contour changes and where trails may be formed. Then look for a food source and deer activity and go from there. or right between what looks like a road/trail and where elevation looks steep in the middle in green. Might be a good funnel
