    Here we go.............................................................. I don't mind glowing like a Christmas tree when I walk in my Breakup Orange. I like to reduce the chances of being shot. Ninety nine percent of the people are smart; but it just takes the one.

    I only wish I was smart enough, at the time to learn from my grandfather. I would love to graft some older apple tree verities onto new stock.

    Same here. Seemed like my grandfather could graft a dandalion. I know he made his own grafting wax out of beeswax. I also remember him saying a clean sharp knife a must.

    Back when I was a kid, I took the seats out of a 57 Chevy car using it for chicken coop. I had to quit when those dang chickens found out how to blow the horn and turn the radio on. Elvis was keeping the neighbors up at night.

    I have had one turkey decoy shot at by a stalker. I don't know what shell the guy was using but blew a 2 inch hole clear through. Reaping, I don't think so!

    That is some fort your building there. I'd be in that, more than just deer season. Never would get any work done, LOL . Anyways, for heat, get yourself one of them wood stoves they use on "Tiny House, Big Living." Then feed it with tiny logs.

    Had one tied to the top of the trunk lid and one on the roof of the car. Ropes through the back door and take'm home. I haven't put a third on the hood, yet. Save the truck for more important things.

    Nice boiling day today. Sap has been dripping everyday except Wednesday.

    Their is a lower concentration of sugar in ice. If it gets cold enough, 5 gallon pails of sap freeze solid. Sugar is sugar to me and I boil all of it. I freeze backup reserves of sap solid, which I throw in my tank, during mild weather periods.

    So, R.O. does lighten the color of the syrup? Culvercreek posted that link above that looks good, but the guy is running sap through at 40 degrees F. for 4 -6 g/h flow rate. That temp worries me, as I always like to keep it below 36F. I could go with larger surface area with the membrane. I don't know if I would have to run a larger pump.

    Yes. It also can affect the flavor of the syrup.

    That is the exact unit I was looking into. I always handle sap as you would milk with the temperature below 37 degree F. This week, sap been running way below that. At that temp. this unit has a 2 gal/ hour flow rate which is way to slow for what I need. I was always under the impression sap never should go to 40 degree F as they state with highest flow rate of 4 to 6 gal/hr...

    How's the season going so far? This last week has been one of the best flows in years for me. Been boiling into the late night just to keep ahead. I will have to look into building a small scale Reverse Osmosis unit for next year or enlarge my evaporator again. Not sure at this point, what would be better.

    Thanks for post Biz. Although I take teeth aging with a grain of salt, I don't trust any document that doesn't even list a company name. Not saying he's not 10 1/2 years old; just not trusting that paperwork.

    I still have some that had the 35mm camera inside, that still work. I was always going to turn one into a "home brew" camera. I don't remember the name of the person that always talked about the home brew cameras on here.

    It must be difficult to be a parent of a teenager in today's society. I just don't know how you parents do it. Wait till they are thirty something, , LOL.
