landtracdeerhunter replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Congrats WNY on a " best buy." I'm sure you're enjoy. Popular size tractor. Not to big, not to small. Also comes in blaze orange, LOL. -
Animals live by a few things; their stomach one of them. While food is sparse, they save their energy level. One gains a lot by being in the field this time of year. You see things not witnessed in hunting season.

How Does Your Garden Grow
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in General Chit Chat
I use the plastic mulch in areas also. I also like to set early tomato plants out in rubber tires. The rubber absorbs the sun during the day and keeps the plant from frosting at night. Ordered my #100 pounds of potato seed yesterday. -
I figure I would start a garden growing thread. I will be planting a garden this season. Got my tomatoes, hot and bell peppers, and egg plant started in some containers in a sunny warm spot. Oh maybe 75 or so. Figure on sweet corn, watermelon, muskmelon, pumpkins, cabbage, califlower, broccoli, and some zinnia's. Just hope I can get on the ground before the 4th of July, LOL.

Fill the hollows in the block with cement. Serves two purposes. Gun safe and fallout shelter.

Just what we need in N.Y., another worthless study. What a waste of tax payers dollars.

We have a lot of fun deer hunting. I can't think of any other sport that is enjoyed more by our family; well maybe turkey hunting, LOL I keep it simple to answer your question . Luck, Luck, Patients, Time, Food, Food ( for both you and the deer) and more food. But above all, enjoy nature for what it has to offer.

Here we go.............................................................. I don't mind glowing like a Christmas tree when I walk in my Breakup Orange. I like to reduce the chances of being shot. Ninety nine percent of the people are smart; but it just takes the one.

I'm telling ya, the punch is spiked! LOL.

Experiences grafting fruit trees?
landtracdeerhunter replied to stubborn1VT's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I only wish I was smart enough, at the time to learn from my grandfather. I would love to graft some older apple tree verities onto new stock. -
Experiences grafting fruit trees?

Same here. Seemed like my grandfather could graft a dandalion. I know he made his own grafting wax out of beeswax. I also remember him saying a clean sharp knife a must. -
What's the most redneck thing you've ever built....
landtracdeerhunter replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in General Chit Chat
Back when I was a kid, I took the seats out of a 57 Chevy car using it for chicken coop. I had to quit when those dang chickens found out how to blow the horn and turn the radio on. Elvis was keeping the neighbors up at night.
