Lawdwaz
When donating household goods (specifically clothing), what charity do you prefer? I'm in WNY and kind of look at Goodwill as overwhelmed. Ever time I see one of their donation centers they have all kinds of things stacked up and exposed to the elements. We've used St. Vincent DePaul before but are open to suggestions. Thanks in advance....

fasteddie
Goodwill is okay . They profit off the sales of items . Salvation Army is better as they don't make money and are a charity . I was told that the Pauly Boxes ( they are sheds ) at the churches , stuff get sorted and a lot of the clothes are used for rags . I don't know if that is a true fact . BizCT
I use Goodwill or other local charities. Our Goodwill has drive throughs. You pull up under an overhang and they help you unload, etc. Well oiled-machine

Farflung
we use the Salvation Army for most stuff. Wife has had work clothes, womens suits and similar that she has given to a charity that gives them to women re-entering the work force that need buisness suitable outfits.
Dinsdale
Well, I’m a real American. I make sure all my junk ends up in a landfill before I max out my credit card buying more junk from China to replace it.
Farflung
I hate to see stuff go to waste. Semi-hoarder. I just remember the difference between liberals and conservatives. "a liberal gives their old clothes to good will, a conservative wears theirs". I usually get my work clothes from the S&A boutique (the salvation army store). Drives my wife nuts. When I get done with them, wife says they are trash and not to donate them.
