WNYBuckHunter
unfortunately I have no food plots , no acorns and nearest cut corn is mile away. I'd gladly put my foot in my mouth tomorrow if I see one The food plot isnt the crux of my comment, the deer still have to eat. Find the food source. WNYBuckHunter
Not sure we even fell below 30 in 8h. Not by much, that's for sure. A bunch of times I have been in 20 degree weather, but its mostly just been first thing in the morning, and it warms up in the afternoon.
moog5050
A bunch of times I have been in 20 degree weather, but its mostly just been first thing in the morning, and it warms up in the afternoon. Pretty sure we didn't hit 20s or I would have been snuggled up in the carpeted bed of my truck. Despite some suggestions to the contrary, that DID NOT HAPPEN. Probably did hit high 20s some mornings but I guess I was just emphasizing how bad the weather was this season. Never had a decent cold streak and I miss the snow while hunting.
philoshop
The hunting could be better for sure, but I'm not going to complain about the extended construction season.

NYBuckHunter27
Geez how do the deer even survive in the summer heat, the way some of you talk they wouldnt ever move. they don't have winter coats for one, and now they move at night during cooler temps and the safety of darkness, hence less sightings.
the blur
I saw 3 deer opening day, that were pushed towards me. After that, NADA. It's hard to sit for the last hour. Gutting and dragging in the dark is SpOoKy.

Gutting and dragging in the dark is SpOoKy. That last hour is called deer-thirty for a reason, stick it out. You can be dragging before full dark if it all goes as planned. if it doesnt, recover the next morning

landtracdeerhunter
I rather enjoy hunting in these temps. Been plenty a winter out in 0 degree weather with a foot of snow on the ground. The cooler has room for two more, right now. Running a balmy 29 degrees at the moment.

coonhunter
I took today off from work. I spent the morning on some public land that has had plenty of pressure. A buddy has kept track of where cars were parking, and we went as far from those areas as possible. Both of us saw deer. Both of us saw more than one buck. Temps ranged from mid 40's to mid 50's. These deer were moving well after sunrise.

Jeremy K
I saw the king of all d-bags shot a monster buck today. Driving down the 90 with his tailgate down and the head out far enough so that it was laying on the tailgate. They must have been moving somewhere today.
