My cold fried egg sandwiches!  :P    I know it sounds disgusting, but that's what I cart along when I am going to have something to eat in the stand. The big problem is holding off eating the whole bunch all at once. Once I get started, stand back ..... there will be egg and toast flying all over the place. Then I wind up sitting there looking for something to eat at lunch time.

You know Doc, I have been meaning to try that. I love fried egg sammies, just havent tried them cold yet. I did get a chance to try deer heart sammies this year that someone else mentioned the last time we talked about this stuff. MMMMMMMMM, yummy.  :)

I'll tell ya, having something good to munch on can add a few hours to my stand. It's just a great place to eat and a great way to bring yourself back to life. I add to that a cup of coffee out of the thermos every half hour or so, and I'm wide awake and ready for more stand time.

Doc ---those fried egg sandwiches are good with a piece of thin sliced ham or bologna that's fried also . I just wouldn't eat them while hunting .

That ham or bologna sounds like a good addition. I understand your concern about making your stand smell like a delicatessen, but I just can't help myself. ;D

I've gotta try one of the cold fried egg sammichies

I've got no idea why I ever even tried something that sounds so gross, but I suppose it isn't much different than eating an egg salad sandwich. Besides I like egs just about anyway they can be fixed. So try it out. You just might like it .................Or maybe it'll make you barf  ;D

Funny how things go.  A friend who can't hunt anymore used to insist on egg salad sandwiches when we'd go to PA for the flintlock season.  I always had a love for 'em anyway so I'd make them and he would bring the coffee and a couple soda pops.

Well, that "tradition" has continued for all opening day hunts for the last 10 years or so with the exception off adding green olives to the recipe!

Sardines, smoked mussels, cheese and crackers round out the larder.

I'm not starving or worrying about odors!!
