Estimates on bear weight

Posting for a friend. First one on his cam since early summer. He'll measure but believes tree is approx 8-10" across.

Never seen a bear in the wild. Only a few on cams. He/she just looks big to me. I do know my 130 pound does weigh 200+ by the time I get them out of the woods though.

I'd go with that too. Maybe even a little more. I've never killed one, but see a lot of bears. And see what the ones the local guys get, weigh.

I think the fuzzy photo makes the bear look a little bigger than what it is, but I agree with biz around 200-220 lbs

I'd say 200-250. You can see the ears and head looks big for the body.

I  have also freely admitted many times, that I am most likely the worst on this forum, on guessing weight, antler scores or anything else, based on photo's. So always take my estimations with a grain of salt!  ...........lol.

So if you decide to shoot that bear, post up the weight and let us know!  Good luck!

I've been around a lot of dead bears and usually guess a little low but I don't think that's a 200lb dressed bear.

I have been there as well, I used to have a 300lb rule but that went out the window at midnight.

Id say the 300lbs mark would be an accurate guess. Im clueless as well too but the belly sags some and ears dont look big. Have a couple on cam from a few years back that got shot that also weighed more and looked bigger through cam pics..

I never had a rule.  As long as her fragrance was bearable, and intent was willing lol Game time.

With no coyote effect. When you wake up in the morning with her laying on your arm and have to chew off your arm to escape

  I had one run by me about 20+ mph about 15yds away  while in a stand in Freedom NY.  faster than I ever thought they could run!

Im to nice to women lol, I'd take them home and usually call em back in a week or two when "original plans" fail, knowing plan B wont lol!!
