turkeyfeathers
Can’t wait for more of our wooden fence to fall down. Flashlights and candles at the ready. Robhuntandfish
yeah i was watching this too Jay. Pretty much assured my power will be out. Im on the very east end of Oneida lake and that wind sure builds bad across 20 miles of open water. It sounds like a freight train outside when its like that. Almost have to yell when youre out there. Good luck and stay safe to all.

I bought a couple of buddy heaters like ice fisherman use and that has sure saved me a few times. esp when my furnace froze when it was -18. Dont have a generator but thinking about getting one. Just certainly a large expense. I do have a portable generator to use but it wont run the furnace.

Jeremy K
I have a generator but still never made the changes to power the house up if the power does go out ,I'd have to run extension cords Inside.
Moho81
I have a home generator that currently has a faulty starter. It just happened 2 weeks ago and I haven’t had time to source one and install it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Red
If you have flags flying I highly recommend getting them down before sunday. If we get the winds that were expecting I'm sure I'll get a lot of calls next week of flagpoles banners and signs down .

Just caught the Buffalo "news" at noon and there was a story on removing flags and banners around Buffalo, and the tape showed the Buffalo public works people taking down Michelle Obama banners down from poles....maybe they could have made an exception and left those up to get torn apart. 1

Kinda like doing it to a vehicle motor. However I’m not opposed to hanging onto it just in case. When are you leaving for the big city? Nomad
One of the things before we left for the month , was go over my blackout kit with our oldest daughter who is staying at our home . LED lanterns ,battery radio , Buddy heater, spring rods and sheets to block off rooms ,and so forth . How to turn on gas fireplace ( flames will work, blower will not if electricity is out ) How to open garage door by emergency release, and reset it after . I blame being a Boy Scout ....... One thing to keep in mind, what was “ on “ when the power goes out often comes back on with the power, like your stove top, so turn the knobs OFF , and don’t put pizza boxes on the stove top. Power outages were always good for some house fires . Stay safe . u

turkeyfeathers
Calm start. Cardinals are singing , just had. 7-8 wood ducks whistle overhead. Crows are ramping up. Squirrels are climbing out of their holes in trees in neighbors yard. Now running down power lines which may be down later lol Edited February 24, 2019 by turkeyfeathers
