Rattler
Wouldn't be needed if the schools would simply put armed security in place.
Robhuntandfish
gets so as i get older I understand the world less and less. In ten years will be surprised if there is school at all. Internet classrooms will be the thing for many reasons including this. Sad for sure. I dont have kids just wasnt in the cards for me, but I can only imagine what it must feel like to think you need to get your child a bullet proof backpack.

That being said here is a idea a guy buying body armor and a assault rifle all of a sudden should have his background checked looked at a little more maybe then some that just is buying a bolt action or shotgun . But can you trust them not to abuse that power probably not and that is why better to just leave the laws alone. greg54
After the 9/11 attacks , someone had a gimmick of parachutes to jump out of sky scrapers. That didn't last long. 1
ApexerER
If any of you guys have ever purchased a backpack for your son or daughter you would think those prices are quite reasonable considering the protection with this. It is sad that I even have to think about such things but one of these might be in the cards for my daughter this fall. She is going into highschool this year. I never even knew there was an option for something like this and I would like to believe it would never be needed but now that I know, I am going to consider it. Actually what I am thinking at the moment is what can it hurt. $50-$75 bucks for a regular name brand back pack or a little more for something like this. I am going to read a little more about those inserts that look like they will go in any backpack as well. Thank you for posting.....
Marion
Here's a concept...how about parents actually PARENT their kids! If parents did their jobs these wouldn't be needed. These people are raising a bunch of fuckups and not being held responsible for the horrendous actions of their spawnSent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Rattler
How about the US come to understand this? Backpacks won't work, because the shooters often assess their victims to be sure they're dead.
Bigfoot 327
At my grandson's elementary school you must ring a buzzer to gain entrance. When they finally open the door you find yourself locked in a small room with very sturdy doors and bullet proof glass. You tell the office what you need and they may decide to grant you entrance. Where you are escorted by either an admin type or "resource officer" who happens to be a village cop. I can not fathom how anyone would gain entrance with a long gun.

If you think that makes the building safe then you need to ask a high-schooler how they get back in after skipping a few classes.

Team Hoyt
Unfortunately we have come to a time like this. The world is full of craziness. I cant say I'm for these laws or background checks for everyone. I'm afraid once we start agreeing to these laws, what's the next law? I have a feeling that it will be a snowball effect, just getting more and more each time. I wish the government would pay returning/ retired military men and women the duty to come into schools, public buildings, or whatever and supply armed security. Its said it's hard for the service members to get jobs once out (I dont know if it is) so here you go. They do a damn good job at protecting our beautiful country, I think they can do it. I dont know if having police officers in the school are the answer. Unfortunately they need to worry about protecting our communities and their already short staffed. Is it the answer, probably not just a thought.
