Son Scores on Maine Black Bear

My son and I are on a Maine black bear hunt. He scored on a nice boar yesterday with his bow. He made a perfect shot and bear went 75 yards leaving a heavy blood trail. It is his first bear and I am hoping to get my first bear. But I am more excited and happy for him and I will treasure the memory. He is going to get a shoulder mount done.      valoroutdoors.com

Sweet! How bad were the black flies and skeeters? When I was there for a fall hunt we had to tape our wrists and necks of the mesh so we could sit still and not swat.

Bugs were not bad at all. No black flies and very few mosquitoes. We brought thermacells and deet spray and haven't used either. It has been very comfortable in the woods. We have been very lucky with the weather and lack of bugs.            valoroutdoors.com
