Air Fryers...Pros and Cons

I love my fried fish and I love my fried chicken...

The Mermaid  is busting my butt because she doesn't like the smell from  my frying in the kitchen...Not so much of  a problem in warm weather because I can fry outside on the side burner of my grill but every time I fry inside I  have to put up with her complaining about the smell...She wants me to try an air fryer...I know nothing about them...What input can you masters chefs ( like CHEF)  provide me about these contraptions..??.. I know they are supposed to be healthier, but I don't really give a chit about that...I'm almost 70 years old and I intend to eat what I like and want it to taste good...

Well tell her to shape up or ur gonna upgrade, I'd try that first!!

My girlfriend bought one and other than tater tots everything that comes out of it sucks! I wouldn’t risk ruining fish in there.

I've only heard people say good things about them. I'm surprised to hear the hate! My wife has been talking about getting one. Quick, easy and now we're just cooking for the two of us since the kids left the nest.

Ours is kinda small and if you don’t over fill it it cooks up stuff nice and crispy. We’ve done fry’s , tater tots, wings and squash.

Our cooking is only for two or three people. We had a little trial and error, but now use it a lot for chicken, fish, and fries. A little investigating on the internet ended up helping us out a ton.

We love ours,salmon, chicken wings ,Mott sticks,pierogies, fries,sausage all come out great .We bought the Ninja brand one .

Like mine for chicken cutlets, rotisserie chicken and skewers, 

cons it’s a bit small on inside can’t cook a lot at once, also takes up a lot of space on my already crowded countertop

Ours is great as well, we use that thing all the time and it's fast!!

I don't have one, so no review! What I do look for in these "latest 'n' greatest" cookers is how easy are they to clean-up after using. I still have a large George Foreman grill & a rotisserie chicken cooker stashed in my cupboards I never use. They work excellent, but a huge PITA to clean-up!

How are these air fryers to clean-up?

I do agree with Big Indian that they are another big kitchen appliance.  I ended up making a new cupboard with tall shelves for our  air fryer, crock pots, George Foreman grill, electric griddle, and waffle iron. Man! Whatever happened to a stove, oven and BBQ grill?!!!
