nybuckboy
looks like the forecast is for lows in the 50's and a high of 70 for Sat/Sun.
BornToHunt
Looks like I will be hunting in shorts and a t shirt.
burmjohn
Ouch, I keep checking, right now its reading lower 60's for the weekend for my area.
dave6x6
YEA i see it's going to be warmer then we all would like but do you think the rain is going to continue through the weekend as well? What are you hearing for the fingerlakes areas?
wdswtr
60's sounds like a cold front after hunting N. Tier all bow season in the high 70's and low 80's. MY problem is the rain in the forcast starting wednesday for the next 6 days straight. Bowhunting in the rain is a bad thing in my book. Hard to follow a washed out bloodtrail if things just dont go perfect.
erussell
Biggest buck I ever arrowed in NY was in the evening back in OCT 2000 after a 70 degree day.
nyslowhand
Déjà vu Now they are calling for it to be "Breezy" on Sat. Didn't we have enough wind last year to last a lifetime?
First-light
Driving to camp last Friday it was in the 70's and at three different times we saw deer hitting the fields. This was all around 2 in the afternoon.
bubba
If deer never moved in warm weather, they sure would be skinny in the fall. They will move, but in my experience it is more mid day in warm weather.
WNYBuckHunter
It says mid 50s and periods of rain. Low in the 40s. Ill be out there, probably in the ground blind.

Rain and 30mph, not so good.. Got Sat and Sun off so I'll be out there. Glad i got the ground blinds up..

wdswtr
I agree if deer dont move in the higher temps then no one in Norther tier would harvest a deer during bow season. I will be out and a tad closer to water sources especially midday.
erussell
shot a big 8 in Alabama back in Jan of 1999 and the temp was in the 70's. He came through chasing a herd of doe around. So they will move, I like to concentrate on water and apple trees if it gets warm.
KenAxe-7
I got a nice doe on 10/10/11 at 9 am. 10 yard shot from 1 of my brush blinds. Shot my very 1st with a bow on 10/2/11. Meat is in the freezer. I am hooked and may never pick up another firearm. I have been seeing some nice bucks but am not confident enough in my bow skills to take shots beyond 30 yards yet. WNYBuckHunter
Well, they were saying it was going to be a little rainy but calm Saturday, now they are saying it will be windy as well. Thats really going to change my plan for the day, but Sunday is looking better with half the wind and only 30% chance of rain.
phade
Yeah...forecast shows wsw 25 mph winds...high 50's and periods of rain. Saweeet! Rocking and rolling in the stand. Not the most favorable conditions. Might need to move the blind midday if it gets too bad...have it set up more for observation the past few weeks so at the very least, I'll be in a stand in the morning. growalot
I have 3 new scrapes now all with in 30yrds of my new watering hole...cams showing a lot of doe hitting them and 2 young buck 4-6.......lots of mid day activity,,,,my open blinds are all set and my enclosed ones are ready to use...They have been hammering the elder brush at the crate blind....looking good for a doe I think
njg0621
30% chance of rain with wind Saturday, Sunday looks good around me. Deer move in the rain but they don't like the wind. I have prob seen more deer in the rain than anything else.
Deerthug
I'm hearing 50 low mid 60's high for Sat in 4Y.
UpStateRedNeck
Saturday: Clouds mixing with sunshine. perhaps a shower. Windy and cool. Wind: NW 10-25 + mph Temps: Low 60s Doh. Oh well this is why I put that stand up down in the gully. Sunday should be better according to the long range. Should know better by tomorrow evening. Nomad
I'm lucky as my job is not m-f 9-5 . I'm off this sat. but on days s,m.t. so I would like to hunt sat. but wind and rain ? I don't have to go as I'm off 25 days this bow season and can also hunt the times I'm on nights which means 30 days or so. If I just had week ends, ya I go. Good Luck !
