Took my son on a mission to get him his first steelhead on the fly. We succeeded. He brought both of these fish to the bank. Awesome afternoon and the kid walked a couple miles and never complained.

@treeguy took me and my nephew out for kings and as usual, he got on fish! It was a rough start but once we got on them it was fast and furious. We landed four and lost one at the net. What an awesome

Had today off and after some property chores got done, we had a few hours to take the mini rig over to Canadice Lake. Caught some easy Bluegills and some short Bass. Even longarming didn’t help the Bass look bigger, lol.

Hit a couple of kings on the SR yesterday swinging spinners. First attempt at this style of west coast salmon fishing and it worked! Now I understand you can go up and floss or snag fish and get much higher numbers but that style isn't for me. But having the kings crush a spinner is pretty cool, most won't touch it, but some will strike it, mostly due to aggression I'd guess. Tried j-plugs near bottom on riggers between 70 and 100 ft.  Had a couple releases but nothing on.  Also had small nk spoons on sliders.  Trolled last 3 hours of daylight between olcott and wilson.

I suppose if it catches fish I'd like it too. I just hate spiders haha. Guess those mean nasty toothy fish don't mind them though

Started pretty slow yesterday but hit an hour long frenzy and the fish were chomping! It is probably the coolest bite in NY in my opinion, catching salmon in 20ft of water on thundersticks, casting.
