I may head back to check on a buck that was still carrying mid week. These are some stubborn horns!!!

Two key factors in them dropping is physical stress and all the does being bred.. Mild winter and high doe population is dragging that out for sure..

I will post a pic of a 6 point buck with both sides still on dated 3/7.  My wife and I did see another buck, much bigger antlers, on Monday.  Both sides still on too.

I’ve yet to find a shed so far.  Hopefully this weekend!

Latest I ever saw a buck carrying was when I was a teenager. It was the week after Easter it was 2 small bucks each had one side left.

So if they drop later, does that mean new antler growth is delayed and then potentially smaller racks this coming season?

In my experiance yes. I have a couple bucks on cam up 3 inches already growing new horns
