Cuomo unleashed his upcoming budget proposal asking for 15 Billion in federal aid. If he doesn't get the 15 billion he has promised to increase taxes and cut state aid to schools meaning we can all expect our school taxes to skyrocket along with other taxes:

In an unusual move, Cuomo presented two executive budget proposals instead of one. In the first, taxes would be hiked, education cut by billions of dollars, proposed projects delayed and the state would need to borrow heavily, leaving future generations to foot the bill.

Cuomo can make up that 15 billion easily . Just defund the entire police force .                                                                Then he can sell the movie rights to his buddies in Hollywood for the " Escape From New York " sequel

Not to worry in NY.  Now that Biden is POTUS, NY will get the bailout money.  NY will not be allowed to go under with Dems at the helm.

Now for the real worry.  Leftist Biden will bail out all the bankrupt Dem states with national funds and destroy all the fiscally responsible states, thereby flinging the entire country into a total economic collapse.

Guess what happens next?  Martial Law with leftists in charge.  Can you feel the love?

You might want to look up which states are in worse position financially, red or blue ones.

Nowhere did I compare Red and Blue states.  I referred to bankrupt Democrat run states stealing from all fiscally responsible states.

NY, NJ, CA, MASS, MICH, Ill are all blue states and were all in fiscal peril prior to 2020.  Some Red states are now in dire fiscal shape due to COVID.  But Blue states want money to pay for huge debts run up way before 2020.  I define a blue state as one governed by Democrats, not necessarily voting blue, like PA.

The only states not close to bankruptcy are Republican run states.

I just don't get how NY one of the highest taxed states in the nation can be in such a bad financial state.  It's just complete mismanagement of funds, there's no other explanation.  What needs to happen is we need to get rid of so many redundant services that we have.  There is no need to have state police, county sheriffs, village police, and then in many towns campus police patrolling the streets.  School systems should be county based, eliminating how many unneeded administrative positions per county?  There are countless examples, but this will never happen since people in these positions will never propose it and vote themselves out of a job.  things like this are what's breaking this state, oh yeah and Cuomo running any real business out of the state... It's pathetic.

Easy spending . Fla a bigger state has a budget of one half NYS . People wondered how states with no income and very low property tax can do it .

Easy no water authority, power authority, thruway authority, smaller gov. Less wasteful Medicade , and welfare and on and on .

Oh and US news ranks fla schools higher then NYS schools .

Most states facing bankruptcy have huge unfunded pension liabilities.  They paid public sector union employees fat salaries and benefits and let them retire young with huge pensions.  They gave them all of this to buy their votes with tax payer money.  It was a Ponzi scheme from day one and now they know it's an unsustainable system.  They always knew it would be, but as long as their corrupt political career was carried to it's finish by it, they didn't care.  It's corruption!  It's criminal.  And the taxpayers are going to get raped when the piper needs to be paid.

I love how its always, Education, Police, Firefighters that need to be cut. Never hear them say we need to cut Medicare, Food Stamps, Subsidized housing etc....

Medicare and Food Stamps (SNAP) are federally funded programs- states can't touch them.

Sorry i meant Medicaid. I always confuse the two.....

How much does New York spend on Medicaid?
New York spends more than $60 billion a year on its Medicaid program, second only to California, which spends $85 billion. The state's Medicaid costs have historically been high because the program that insures the poor and disabled offers more generous benefits than other states.

No questions, it's a costly program.  Although not surprising that the two states with the highest cost also have the highest populations.

If New York was not a Sanctuary State this would not be happening ! Time to cutoff NYC / Long Island from the rest of the state !

Sanctuary states/cities will soon be a mute point, shortly we'll have a sanctuary country....

California is the highest population. Then its Texas and Florida. NY is #4.....

Texas spend 37 Billion

Florida spends 22 Billion

How many Police, Firefighters and Teachers or better yet just tax savings if we spend as much as Flordia....

Also, SNAP is a federal program, but how it is doled out and distributed to the States Citizens is up too and funded by the state. So cutting some administrators of the SNAP program can't ever happen but Teachers, Police, Firefighters.......First to go....

It also has no established residency eligibility requirement.    The poor and disabled from other states are eligible for NY Medicaid benefits the very day they come to NY and make this their new residence.

Isn't this a wonderful business model for NY?  NY has a benefits package to attract poor and disabled from other states and at the same time a tax package that drives business, employment, and retirement  to other states!
