Alls quiet. Today might be my first nap in the woods ever.

Hearing quite a few gobbles way off in the distance. The chances of me calling them in and flying over this creek?... very slim. Beats working though

Oh hell no !! Caught fisher bounding in at 20 yards. Mad run right towards my tree. He got as close as 3’ before I said hey hey. Was going to come right behind my stick blind and climb tree I’m under. Had I been napping as planned he would have crawled right on me.

One distant gobble, but no action. Beautiful morning at least.

Had to leave early this morning. On my way back to my truck , I see 2 gobblers running thru the woods.  Oh well….. tomorrows another day. Time for a double bacon, egg and cheese sandwich from the nearest deli.

2 gobbles 5 minutes apart. Can’t pinpoint him. He’s close

Gobbled only twice. Heard another one off property couple hundred yards. Spot n stalk using ridges as cover. I zigged he must have zagged more. Think he’s in this patch. And yes I climbed into this stand lol. No rules gotta hunt from the ground right ..

That’s a wrap. Both birds been quiet but happy to have heard and saw bird “missed “ opening day is alive and well. Fisher made my day too. Love my happy place. Quote me on that May 31st lol
