I've been peeking into these political threads off and on...I read a few posts from that numb nut and the stupidity is beyond fathomable that I quickly hit the back button and try to forget I just witnessed evidence of the dumbest form of human life possible. But I read your post and it made me laugh because it's nothing but the truth! Lol. First time I'm actually going to vote...and I have no questions of who it will be! I use my treestand harness to drag. When I get tired of that, I'll just tug away on the horns for a little while until my back needs a break, then switch back to the harness. I don't get excited or in a rush about LONG drags, but dragging is the exclamation mark on the end of the hunt for me! That's when my own sense of accomplishment, and my respect for the animal really sets in. After all the time, energy, preparation, and effort that leads up to killing a deer, it just seems appropriate to me that getting him out of the woods shouldn't be the easiest part. I'll take plenty of breaks along the way to snap a few pics and just to look back and admire my trophy in his natural environment one last time. In some strange way, dragging is like a primitive ritual to me that I really do enjoy! Sometimes I'll even take the scenic route home!3 points

I believe what works best is to shoot the deer closer to where you are parked !3 points

Went out at 6 am this morning in my buddies Nitro bass boat onto Lake Erie. Weird wind again and quite choppy even inside the breakwall. Jigged some crayfish and 3" Gulp minnows. Buddy caught 3 smallies , I caught one small one and daughter blanked. Tried to get out to fish the structures out at beginning of the river but boat kept coming out of the water. So we checked out the worlds largest rubber duck. Holy smokes , people on land snapping pics , kayaks everywhere and this thing is huge. Looking forward to fall and fishing the mouth of the Cattaragus for steelies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

But, imagine when they fly over and let one go. It might sink the boat or kill you if in the wrong place. Just sayin'.2 points

WOW, TF, I am glad REAL ducks aren't that big...You'd get a hernia carrying the DECOYS ... Of course, you'd only have to shoot one duck and you'd have enough meat for the whole year...2 points

Again, wrong. The electoral college awards the same amount of votes if one wins a state by 51% or 91% so the fact that you progressives like to pack up in wasteful spending, law breaking herds, is actually helpful to conservatives. What hurts the conservative movement is when you progressives decide your sick of your self inflicted tax and spend policies and move to conservative low tax states like Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina. You then flip the state. Because you're all to ignorant to realize you are the problem.2 points

Havn't been able to hunt my SIL's woods in quite a while as the field to it is always wet and gushy and the woods would hold water rather than drain .It has really dried out this year . I took my ATV to geneseo with some tools and posted signs . My Sil and I met the guy that hunts the property north of hers . We located the property stakes and put up several signs on the north end . The west side is a ditch that normally is filled with water . The east side isn't a problem as the property owner is the only one that hunts there . As for the north end of her property , we made an agreement with each other for retrieval rights . Debating on whether or not to put up a treestand in the woods . It's a long walk for an old man . The guy that bush hogs the riding trails for the GVHC made it much easier to get back to the woods . I pulled cards from 4 trail cams and from the looks of my Hub Blind on raised stand , I need to replace it . I will try to do that in the next couple of weeks . Got a lot to do in the next couple of weeks . Maybe I can get my youngest son to give me a hand some Saturday .2 points

Before I started quartering them up and still if it's under a 2 mile drag I find a nice dead limb or sapling and cut it down to about a foot long with a 18-24" piece of 550 cord tied around the horns and front feet. Hold it in the small of your back and start tugging. The key I have found is to only go a short way at a time, drag 30-40ft go back get the gun and pack carry it 60-80ft go back get deer to pack and repeat over and over.... I have made some long drags over a few mountains and it ain't killed me yet. The best part of dragging a deer is that ice cold beer or 10 at the end. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Defintely stealth boxes for coyotes and pumacougars.. They are small because the spooks prefer to stock juveniles rather than adults because the younger animals adapt better to their new environment than adults. I got this information directly from a guy who knows the second cousin of the chief agent of the BOCSORA.... Bureau Of Covert Stocking Of Restricted Animals... The good news is that not ALL of this is funded by taxpayers/sportsmen's money...Insurance companys buy the stealth boxes and pay a portion of the fuel expenses for the black stealth helicopters that deliver the "goods" , as they call them in the business..2 points

Pretty good deal here if you're manly enough to carry pink! You can always do a custom camo job with some dollar store spray paint. Comes with 3 mats and one butane cartridge! https://www.thermacell.com/products/mosquito-repellents/specials/realtree-ap-pink-repeller2 points

A completely accurate quote, from Krugman. He has a vested interest in the destruction of the US, and very little credibility or respect beyond his NYT news-room safe space. If you're going to fire shots, Uptown, at least load the gun and try to aim it.2 points

It's a set for "The Blair Witch Project", Part 2. ??? Fire the photo off to the DEC, tell them where it is and how you came across it. If it's not their own doing they'll almost certainly look into it.2 points

Hey Eagle Rider, Congratulations on your find, those BARs are surely top of the line autoloaders and the price is right. If the old Bushnell scope is an old Scope Chief model I owned one myself many years ago and can tell you they were a fine scope in their day, it had nice clear optics and adjustments. You might want to put it in a drawer and save it for a beater you may come across down the road instead of tossing it As for cleaning the insides of a very dirty firearm you do not want to completely disassemble I use an old tip I got from a gunsmith many years ago. He would soak the complete gun in a plastic tub that fit the gun with enough white kerosene or Coleman fuel to cover it minus the wooden stock of course. Slosh the gun around every now and then and take a soft bristle brush of some kind to remove any gummed up oil or sludge in every place you can get at. Just about all the gunk that is in and on a gun that has been fired a lot will come loose and that kerosene will end up being filthy. When you get all the crap off you can see just stand the firearm up in a position so that all the fluid drain away and wipe clean and dry with a soft cloth. For lubrication go with a lite fine gun oil, the Kerosene itself also actually has a lubricating quality to it so it helps protect places you can not get at. I have used that method many many times over the years mostly for my handguns with very good results. As for the used dirty fuel just run it through a paper filter back into it's container and you can use it over again. Al1 point

As opposed to last year, when food was plentiful and everywhere. The deer, this year will have to move a bit farther to feed. This may work to the hunters benefit.1 point
