    I always think its funny when some of the guys i hunt with call it luck that me and another friend have a nice buck on the ground while there just seeing does. They dont understand that hunting to me isnt just done in October and November.

    i've been moving my stands around, and picking climber trees since the snow melted. Got some new property this yr this it going to require some new stand purchases and im likely going to build a box blind or two on it as well. Other than that, getting a new string non my bow and im ready to go

    I dont know about your iphone, but my battery is shit when its cold out, and thats in my pocket. Cant imagine a big 12 walking by at 15 yards, and the phone/sight is out of batteries!

    ive wanted to do this for a while, any advice for a newbie in terms of good sports to start?

    I found the short 4 inch rubber stabs to be an absolute waste of money. My current setup, i brought to my shop and said i wanna stabilizer can i shoot a few. After 3 or 4, i found one that seemed to balance everything right for me, and my groups went from 3-4 inches to arrows touching each other. Nothing is going to work the same for everyone, if it did, bow buying and setup would be quick and easy, and wheres the fun it that? lol

    I only see a warden maybe once every few years. Always end up chatting with them for a while. Most are good guys, even had one give me a lift back to my truck when i walked out after unsuccessfully tracking a deer a few miles on state land.

    a good stabilizer will help your groups dramatically, regardless of how fancy your rig is.

    i started mine well over a yr ago. It took until last month to actual submit my paperwork, its in albany right now getting approved. They cant turn you away for any reason. you have a right to apply. The lines at most offices are over and hour right now, so though you may have to wait for the appointment, they have no right to deny you

    nice catch phade. What i was trying to type is i don't use the soaps and shampoos and breath mints, etc. and only use the spray close to my stand. thats what i get for multitasking on a conference call

    i don't use it all. waste of money in my opinion. I watch the wind meticulously and spray the scent spray on my boots for the last 50 yards walking in to my setups

    My camp is up there too, right on Raquette. I've walked by her memorial stone walking into the woods for years, and used to find the stringed off sections where they took samples i guess all around the area. Where did you see they are starting the search again?

    i've left a few in for the season with no problems in the past. They both were cheap ladder stands in very inaccessible locations and ive never had any problems. I know alot of guys who've had issues with theft though. i attribute my good luck to having heavy and cheap stands a long ways into the woods, making it very hard to steal. i bought a good climber last yr though and thats all i need anymore.
