I think Gander is pricey on all their items compared to Dicks. I sometimes wonder how they stay in business. I was looking for arrow flechting & Grander had them on sale & they were 2 bucks higher than Dicks not on sale for the same thing & their used gun prices are nuts. jmo

I use an older API climber that uses a chain like a bicycle chain & it is solid when climbing & once in place. I feel the chain conforms to the tree really well. It also has a serrated blade against the tree. You can replace the pins on the stand & use small locks through the chain links to lock it around a tree so you don't have to carry it in every time. I beleive Bass Pro took them over & still make them but they seem a bit heavier now. Mine only wts. 21 #. I also have a Summit which is as good. I think some climbers are bad on cherry trees also.

Doe wacker , there is a movement going on ask we speak in the U.N. to make a world wide ban on all firearms. I know it sounds nuts but the last I read on it , it had some pretty go backing from countries around the world. I beleive it is to be voted on in the next year or two. Info. came from NRA . Check out US sportsman alliance site for more crap that is going on in other states, that give stupid ideas to the others.

It just amazes me how stupid some people are.

NRA, GOA, SAF which one is best ? I say only give up the ones they know about & hide the rest along with plenty of ammo. for those. But who knows what would happen if all stuck together ?

N.Y. is Fubar when it comes to gun laws. Maybe if the National Right to Carry law passes it will help some, at least for hand guns. Don't know for sure.jmo

I got two girls ready for this, one 37 & one 32 & then comes three grand kids 1 boy 3 y/o 2 girls; 2y/o & 1 to be 1y/o next week. And youngest daughter has 1 in the oven! Man that makes me sound old! Had my girls calling turkey & rigging downriggers & planer boards when they were young, they both impressed some of their teachers with their fish rigging knowledge, all great memories & great times.

Same with me ,dad said do this do that and you did it ! He would leave notes to do jobs after school and we just did them no qusetions asked. We would help the neighbors do chores and dad would say "don't you take any money!" worked our a$$ off for nothing. But we knew how to work hard and respected anyone else that did.

I agree 100% . If people can't use technology they can't do it! Give someone $5.00 & 3 cents for a $3.00 & 3 cent bill & they tell you, you over paid & don't know how to make change! Drives me nuts. I know kids (adults) 26 y/o male has never cut a blade of gras or shovled a flake of snow. & his 30 y/o sister just got her first part time job 1 yr. ago. But they both have masters degrees. Ask a 12 y/o old to cut grass & they want $20.00 bucks or they say your crazy. Seems If they can't sit at a key board they won't do anything. and the list goes on!

I beleive Deer&Deer hunters did a test to see if gutting a deer by their stand would keep deer away & they showed that deer where the first animal to eat on the pile. They were surprised to see it happen at all.

We had cable, went to Direct, now have Dish & wish we had Fios in our area but don't. I say Direct is the best so far & will go back to them when contract is up with Dish. Only thing is who knows what will happen when direct contract is up with Msg, loose Sabres again?

Has anyone used an Illusion systems Extinguisher deer call ? any pros / cons . Seems like a nice idea if they work.

Why would you go after trophy deer in Illinois and shoot a 120 class buck in the first place ? Those can be shot anywhere in N.Y. jmo

I agree with Doc., could never see running unless someone was chasing me with a knife! My son in law runs every day no matter what. (nuts in my opinon). I also told my kids they can change my diapers,feed me with a straw, wipe the drool off my face & chin & wheel me down to a pond & stick a fish pole in my hands & let me sit there all day just don't put me in a home! Proabaly won't know the diff. anyway..

Greybeard, sounds like your in pretty good shape for the shape your in!! And talk about being with 18 yr. olds, hell I would settle to be with two 40 yr. olds if you know what I mean !!

I am in no shape for exercise!! I did physical job for 40+ yrs. & was too tired to "work out". Round is a shape ! & I now do walks & go to the gym 1 day a wk. until spring then yard work starts.

Hind sight is my go to sight , just for that reason, Bifocals. It works well for me once you get it zeroed in its great, shows any torque you might be having. Bifocals are a pian in my a$$! jmo
