    Slow night here maybe 20 so far . I’ve got two dark houses ,one next to me and the other is next to them , I think that’s keeping kids on the other side of the street . Plus our front faces one street , while our driveway is in another ( corner house ). Not many coming across lawn I think I just doubled the number , in two minutes !

    Agree , I’ve killed a pile of 8-10 pt year and a half’s back when I was happy with the first 8pt or up to come along .

    Welcome as well . Ive had trouble drawing my bow the last two years also , sat out much of bow this year, will be out with my crossbow a lot the next two weeks . I’m very excited . Let us know how you do .

    Ok I had an omelet, half the home fries that came with it and one of the four halves of toast , for breakfast . Im still full, that burger would last me a day .

    Same reason I would , I often drive to and from in my camo , especially after killing one. Keeps my street clothes blood free, and since likely I wouldn’t be hunting again soon, I can wash them ,clean the truck and regroup .

    Per m NYS bowhunter survey . 17.5 hours on stand 19 deer . Havent hunted since oct22 won’t go till crossbow this weekend , which of course we have a wedding and our 30th wedding anniversary, plus our daughter from a Buff is coming home . ill be hunting hard from crossbow through gun , being retired ,I’m ok with missing bow . Off to breakfast with other old limping crippled up bow hunters.

    Personally, I find it easier and more effective ,to handle things myself a few months later, at around 4 AM . Just put it in your accounts payable and wait six months to a year .

    We built a new shooting shack , but the field is so wet, we may not get it in place till a solid freeze, or perhaps add pontoons and add an outboard .

    That and there’s no Redwoods to hang stands on in Mendon .

    Yes. If it’s close to the stand you have to hit top of the close side lung,or you can miss the offside lung . I aim for the exit.

    Ag rates . No idea on assessment , lawyer does it all, he gets rent check from farmer , pays the taxes and then sends us a check . It’s all mostly road frontage , 3 different roads , so the land (3 pieces) have roads on two sides , also they ran water lines down the roads a few years ago. Flat and level . Some of it has already been sold off and built on . I would think the value would be around 400k ,but really not sure need to have it appraised.

    Ah , Quarter million for 80 acres and a so so cabin . Me I’d rather buy a condo in Fla and fly to Montana every year for a week . Oops 132 acres , my bad still couldn’t live in that full time .

    Just pulled tax forms , $2,100 in taxes on 120 acres .

    Well Rob I also,drove cars with out seat belts or airbags , now safety plays a big roll in what I buy , i don’t drive around the corner without buckling up . Ive been in “ wilderness “ from the ADK , To deserts of the Soulth West, to The Yukon Territory . Weeks sometimes with out contact , today I like to take advantage for what’s available though . When I hunt Montana , I like leaving camp once in awhile to go to town, for nothing else but being able to call home ,to see how the wife and kids are . Perhaps I’m just a worrier, but I like to check in from time to time to know everyone’s fine . If there is cell service ,it doesn’t mean you have to use it , your possession is somewhat odd .

    My friend bought 40 acres in Macedon a few years ago for,little over 1k an acre I think ,I’ll check . It’s long and narrow , one whole side is a fairly steep hill, and access is just at one point up a steep hill off 31 . Inother words not good for farming or development, hence the price, very good hunting though . Good luck We pay I think ( lawyer pays it ) around $2500 on 120 acres in Ontario county .

    Thanks , she runs the 870 fine, because as she says, “ there’s not some big thing on top that can hit me in the face . “ I have snap caps for 870 , so she could dry fire and practice running the gun . BTW you don’t live around Seneca Falls do,you ? Shes had a couple dates with a guy who’s Dad has hunted Africa . My set up isn’t too sophisticated.
