  1. Moog is spot on . My BH fly like my FP's , I rotate one practice BH on each of my arrows so I know each arrow is on with BH . Then I'll shoot 2 FP and 1 BH shooting the BH 1st . The thing to do all the time is shoot each arrow at a different spot, however I like to see the groups . Heck I may go out and shoot now soon as Will and Grace is over.
  2. Months before the season ? I do very little pre season, my clothes have not been washed from last season , I shot my bow 2x's, I don't do food plots , trail cutting , hinge cutting , scouting. heck my daughter never sets foot in the woods preseason , shoots her gun a couple times, spends a few hours on stand , zero scent control , wears my old oversized clothes, fills the freezer .
  3. So far gin and tonics , the Mrs bringing home linguine and clam sauce .
  4. Nothing plays on my ipad .
  5. I like to buy handmade American shoes, keeps some of our skilled craftsmen employed . For those here who may be heterosexual , I've never gotten so many compliments from random women till I stared wearing quilty shoes. Wish I stared as a younger man, beats walking a puppy in a park . Ok back to arrow flinging
  6. That's funny right there . You mean the annual trips to camps of all men sleeping in close quarters ? i believe they made a movie a few years back about a similar annual trip on a mountain . Hey it's ok I don't judge .
  7. I also spend more on shoes then a lot of women. Allen Edmonds , Johnson Murphy, Alden I'm a complex individual.
  8. They are also not the same brand or number or length of fletching, pretty sure the field points are different too. I own 8 arrows , 3 different brands... Not one deer I've ever killed complained about that !
  9. Ok time to shoot a bit ! First pic arrows numbers 7,8 and 9 of the year , 22 yards , shoulder hurt . shot idk 21-24 arrows last pic 20,25 and 30 yards, I only shoot 20 and under hunting. little disappointed arrows are a bit high .
  10. Ya when our pool went in the the town would come out inspect one thing and say " now you need to do,X" after a few of those I stopped calling them . Building was going crazy at that time and my pool inpaection dropped off the radar . My buddy did the electric and it's to code, but they nit picked everything else . Part of my job is fire inspections of business and residential units above 7 . I only write up things that would kill someone, or obvious easy to fix things .
  11. Don't own one or a truck for that matter. Ive seen both good and bad. I've sat in a stand as a friend who lives by my spot drives his ATV towards the thick stuff, park it and start to walk the last bit . I d call him and say forget it as soon as you got close a herd of deer ran out the other side . That was common on my spot. Then I've been on the back of one as we drove past deer standing on the side of a hill a few yards away, this was a different spot .
  12. Hey just because I spotted your Sebenza you gotta point that out ? Yes I bought it pre owned off a trusted seller on the Rolex forum, ( they don't like to say "used " lol .)
  13. I have to assume it is , as it's made for us to bail out a window and hold us there until we squeeze the handle and use the other hand to feather the rope out to control descent . The issue is I'd have to thread the rope through the device on the ground and slide it up as I climb. But you can't really "push it up " you, have to pull sections of rope slack and it takes some pressure to feed the rope through. A Prusik knot easily slides up as I climb but locks you,in place on a fall no way to descend , well you can if you tie a second on the line by your foot and inch worm down by which switching knot you hang by . Hang form harness slide , foot one down , stand using foot one , slide harness one down . I was playing around with the Desender at home today trying to figure out how to,incorperate into my hunting system , and took a couple pics. im certified to the intermediate level of NYS rope rescue , but frankly it's not something my Truck co . Does and it's not my strong point .
  14. We just got new bail out harnesses and descending system at work , got to keep or old ones. The harness is a belt/ leg strap type, I don't have a pic of it. But here is the desender and carabiner that attaches to the harness. Along with a couple pics of bail out training . id like to incorporate a desender /asender to my system .
  15. Awesome ! I had a large gator skull that a friend who worked at Wards Natural Science gave me, I in turn gave it to my first LT., his nick name was "Gator " because of his large body and short arms .
  16. I get it . When our kids were young ( had mine 20 years) we used it a lot for years, as they grew they used it with their friends a lot and the Mrs and I not as often . Today the oldest still stops over with her co workers, I've taken to calling that " nurse night !) One of my favorite things to do is when we have company over , is I put on two suits , after being in it awhile, I'll say " the best way to enjoy the tub is in the nude", and reach below the water, remove the outer suit and toss it on the fence ....
  17. There has to be a removable access panel on that tub, for sevice work . 20 years old I guarantee somethings been replaced, pumps and heaters seldom last anywhere near that long .
  18. Correct , must likely it's in conduit run under ground and snubbed up under tub. One of the reasons I bought Hot Springs , it uses a cord to an outside socket my patio was there before the tub ,also no separate breaker box. The cord allows for repositioning of tub too . Its going to have to be disconected prior to removing tub. There should be an outside disconnect , so servicemen can shut it off from outside in case nobody is home . Shut off outside disconnect , go,inside shut off breaker, remove panel cover and disconnect wire going to sub panel . Just capping and turning off breaker you always run the risk of someone turning it back on , as well as issues with any future home inspections . The conduit will be sticking out of the concrete a bit as well that will need to be cut off and plugged. My buddy would do it for probably $50 it's a fast simple job, youll have to,pay the down state luxury tax rate .
  19. Starts with "D" shaped holes . Those squiggly lines under the bark are the paths they ate . I had close to 50 ash trees in my suburban yard, had some removed and treating the others , which will have to be done a long time . Ive spread the treatments to once each 3 years , started with 2, City of Rochester hopes to get it out to 4 years. Its about 3k each time .
  20. I wore glasses most of my life and they were a pain hunting , rain, fog up when I wore a face mask and so on . Then I had trouble seeing pins as well, I even knocked the right lens out of one pair, thought I could use left eye for distance and then close it and see pins clear with right ya that didn't work .... Had Lasic a few years ago at around 54 Y/O, wow that was a great move ! Only problem was I never knew I had so many winkles , I was much better looking when I was half blind .
  21. I don't do much out of the ordinary , although the night before the season I'll make make a few passes on a fine hone with my knife and clean it .Thats something I've always done . I don't really scout, I've hunted the same spot 30 years and I like to think I know where to hunt it , but who knows perhaps I'm wrong . My cams went out late and I don't check them much . My ladders are all where I want them , I do have 3 hang ons to put up. This year is a first they did not plant 3 fields that touch my spot, Im believing this will force the deer to move through my hardwoods to get to bedding, instead of bedding in and moving through the corn . So those stands will go in the back corners of the woods . I need to shoot my bow a bit more ( 6 arrows so far ... ) . This time of the year I like to get things done around the house , close pool, wash Windows any painting and so on , as it's not getting done Oct - Dec. Oh I do need to buy more Atomic Fireballs, and see if I can find and beer with a deer on the label . I do have two Dogfish Head Pennsylvania Tuxedo beers left from last year . ( Thanks to Turkey Feathers ! ) oh and we really need to eat what's left in the freezer , I just gave a bunch to a trainer and the gym who I heard say he wanted to eat more wild game . He loved it and shared it with friends who also did. I plan on shooting him a doe this year . I guess I should go buy my lic. as well .

    Dammit

Well , those straps on the ladder sections seem to be pretty strong . But that's taking hinge cutting to the extreme !
  23. Here's one off one of my cams.
