  1. That's a bad ass dude choking out a Mt Lion tell it suffocates to death. Or maybe it choked to death on the guys arm or head....
  2. I jumped in my truck this morning and it said -12. I had it running in the driveway about 20 minutes before I got in. As soon as I started driving it went to -17. I don't mind the snow but this freezing cold sucks.....
  3. IMO, If you are only looking at those because of the price. I would buy a used name brand machine. There are lots of machines for sale that are barely used that you can pick up for less than the cost of a new knock off. Any brand, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Polaris, Arctic Cat, Kawasaki are all going to be better quality and easier to find parts for. One of the guys on our lease purchased a side x side from tractor supply. Its a Motismo or something like that. I have driven it numerous times and I always feel like I am going to break it. It just feels, rides and drives like it is made super cheaply. Like I am riding a kids toy. It has had its fair share of problems as well including getting a hole punched through the floor from a stump. One of the guys has a Polaris RZR and many of the guys have name brand wheelers including my Kawasaki Brute Force 750 and we beat them to death and they just keep on ticking. The Motismo can't hold a candle to any of them. IMO, buy once cry once. My Brute Force is a 2007. I bought it in 2010. It has treated me very well and I have no intensions on replacing it anytime soon, maybe ever. Like you, I use it very little but I am glad I have it. The other thing that is nice about purchasing used, you don't feel bad about running it through trees, mud, stumps, throwing deer on it, etc.
  4. I honestly know very little about this but I have walked through many area's where pines were planted in a grid with equal spacing. Now granted these have been old plantings but the one thing I always noticed walking through was how open they were. I am not sure once the trees are mature that is the cover that deer would be looking for. So to me it makes sense what you are saying about planting them randomly and closer together giving better cover for the deer. Now if you are looking to make a sniper stand where you can shoot a long ways down rows of trees, then the grid pattern would make sense.
  5. I don't know how many guns I have. Quite a few. The only one I use regularly is my deer rifle. I couldn't tell you the last time any of the others have been fired. I wouldn't get rid of any of them. I either purchased them for a reason or they were handed down to me. But I don't have any problem with what other people do with their property. To each their own!
  6. So glad you share your work with us! Always amazing!
  7. That's so he can say he didn't raise taxes. But our taxes will be going up, just on a different level. Our State dollars are better spend supporting the LGBT community and giving illegals more benefits then American citizens.
  8. Beautiful Buck. Congrats. I feel like hunting season ended here forever ago.....Way to keep after it!
  9. While I am very hopeful that Trump is able to appoint another (hopefully more than one) younger conservative judge. You know the Dems are going to do everything in their power to fight that appointment. The most concerning thing to me is that this country seems to get less conservative by the hour. How some of these newly elected people even got into office is down right scary. It blows my mind that anyone pulled the lever for some of these folks never mind the majority.
  10. My problem is I am like that before I shoot.....
  11. I guess I have to admit that I don't know enough about it other than the, "it is bad" we have all heard for so long. I don't get a buzz off of one bud light. I'll admit I do if I drink one of the craft beers with much higher alcohol content. I don't see how weed can't be addictive. It seems that anything that alters your mind/feelings someone is addicted to it. People are addicted to sucking air out of whip cream cans. There are lots of people that smoke a lot of weed everyday. You think they could just stop smoking weed and be ok with it? Get up in the morning and not want to get high? I find that highly unlikely but maybe they can.
  12. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/01/22/shot-2019-an-arrow-firing-rifle/ I had to Google it. I still don't understand how it works. Says the Arrows are pulled from the front of the arrow.
  13. My biggest issue with weed is, I have been talking to my daughter who is 13 about drugs. I bring it up every chance I get. Telling her to stay away from them, what they do, whenever I see some whacko I point out that he/she is probably high. Now if we legalize one, how am I to explain how bad this thing is that I have been talking about. Then we got, Marijuana was illegal and then the government decided it wasn't bad....maybe cocaine isn't bad, maybe meth...etc. Not my thinking but I can see kids thinking like this. I say this knowing in my head that I will be happy if my daughter somehow makes it through life only ever tired drinking and pot. The drugs that are out there are nothing like when I was kid. Crack, Coke, Heroin, Meth, X etc really scare the sh^t out of me as a parent. My second issue in the weed vs alcohol dept. I like my beer. I had 3 beers last night (over a few hours) while we had some friends over for dinner. I had 4 or 5 beers on Monday (over several hours) while I was over at a Friends. I almost always drink Bud Light which is far from a heavy weight beer. I was never in any way shape or form drunk. I could always make decisions etc. Unless you are a hard core weed smoker, if you smoke weed, you are high as a kite, immediately. There is so much THC in todays weed that one hit and you are stoned, aren't making reasonable decisions and certainly shouldn't be driving a car. You can drink and not get drunk but I am not sure how you smoke and not get high. So while I don't really care if you get high and sit on your couch. A situation where you stop over at a friends and smoke a joint and stop over at a friends and have a beer or 2 and then head home are very different. I am not a weed smoker so maybe I am wrong, but that is how I see it.
  14. Won't see that on the news. They don't have to vote for it. You watch the news and this is all blamed on Trump. No reason to stop that blame.
  15. If I recall correctly, that wasn't billions....It was a Trillion dollar stimulus package and you are right. Who knows where that money went. But then again, whats a trillion dollars among friends.
  16. Good article. I suspect it is much more difficult than he makes it sound.
  17. Hold my beer and grab that piece of wood over there.....ahh, never mind the wood...
  18. I was looking all over for bigfoot When I noticed an almost all white deer.
  19. 5.7 billion is 60% of what illegals cost New York State alone in one year. That is a sickening and staggering number. So I am 100% all in for the wall. Even if it only slows the problem. Although, everything I have read shows it will more than slow the problem. I understand that it won't stop 100%. Where there is a will there is a way. This wall needs to include state of the are detection (both above and below ground) so we can make better use of our border agents. It was always my understanding that the wall was going to be paid for using the money we provide Mexico. (Mexico pays for the wall) I don't think anyone ever thought Mexico was going to cut us a check to build the wall. I am glad the government is shut down. I hope it stays shut down until Trump gets his funding. The government isn't shut down because of Trump, it is shut down because Pelosi and Schumer are now against what they were once for. Why are Pelosi and Schumer against what they were once for? Because the Democrats used to run on being for the middle class. The working mans party fighting against the evil Republicans that were only for the rich people and corporations and once they were in office went in a different direction that if you paid attention too did nothing to help the middle class unless you were in a union. Now they have gotten to a point in this country where they no longer have to run on that platform. Now they openly run on a socialist platform where everyone, including illegals are entitled to certain wages, healthcare, standard of living etc. and are receiving a staggering number of votes running on this platform. Once they get enough people to buy into this platform where there is nobody to stand in their way, it will be the end of the United States. Thank god right now we have Trump standing in the way!
  20. Inflation because of capitalism is how our country is supposed to work! Inflation because of all the Government mandates placed on business is called socialism. I would be happy as a clam washing dishes in a restaurant if it paid enough. I would also happily pay more for my meal.
  21. I must not be a gentleman...lol. I will happily discuss all three! Thank you again for responding. I am curious, what you would like to see as solutions? I will admit, I am a scream from the rooftops, round them all up and get them out of here guy but even I know this isn't feasible. So my solutions would be as follows: First and formost, we stop the inflow. To me this happens with a border wall that has to include detection technology. Not only that but we need to keep track of people that have come into the country legally but have overstayed their legal welcome. Second, we have to remove any incentive for coming here. We should NOT be giving any of these people, healthcare, welfare and I am including employment in this. We need strict penalties and enforcement for anyone knowingly employing non citizens. I am also including school for the children of illegals. I understand that young children didn't have a choice but why should tax paying Americans have to pay for the schooling of non Americans? This is putting a huge burden on school systems that are already under funded. If we remove any incentive for coming here, this may take some time and have to be strictly enforced but over time it would solve the issue. Third, if we remove the incentive to come here. We can't have 22 million people just roaming the streets. We have to have to have some sort of system that allows people to self deport. So we have a setup that pays for people to be sent back home. This can easily be paid for by the money we are saving by not doling out money to illegals. It has been posted many times that NY pays almost 10 billion per year on illegal immigrants. That is a lot of plane/bus/train/boat tickets. Forth, I have no issue with people coming to this country the correct way. Maybe we need to streamline this process. I honestly can't say because I don't know what the process is, but everyone should be vetted. I know people say that it is unfair to uproot a family that has been here for x number of years and deport them. As far as I am concerned, they broke the law coming into our country. They knew coming here and have known since being here that deportation was/is a possibility. They made the choice to come here anyway knowing what the ramifications could be if caught. Why would the ramifications be different for someone that has been here for a long time compared to a short time? Cause they got away with it longer?
  22. I am glad you posted. Thank you. While I wouldn't say from that post you are pro illegal immigration it is the kind of post as was looking for where there are a lot of things I don't agree with but I can understand your argument 100%. So I would like to respond. I have said in several previous posts that I wish Trump would stop with the name calling and belittling tweets etc. I don't think it is very presidential and understand that I am sure it alienates certain people. That being said I do agree with 90% of what he is trying to accomplish. In response to your first paragraph. I understand that we were all immigrants at one point. Documented or undocumented. I honestly don't know enough about my family history to know when my ancestors came here or how. I also agree that we have an incredible load of born Americans who are at least as worthless and a drag on the system. I think this is the "core" of the problem, the system. I understand that there are many illegals here that are hard workers just working for a better life. But I am tired of hearing that there aren't Americans that will do this work. First of all, there isn't a job I wouldn't do ( I guess if it was life risking I wouldn't) if it paid enough. These workers drag down the wage scale because they are willing to work for less than an American worker. But the problem is also two fold and goes back to the system being broken. We have created a system where Americans don't have to work. With all the freebies and American citizen is entitled to, with housing, food, medical care there isn't an incentive to work. Government incentives for non workers shouldn't surpass anyone that is working. If you remove the incentive not to work, we would have a much larger work force. These jobs would get filled by Americans because they would have to work. This new work force would be contributing to the economy. Now maybe we would all have to pay a slight increase in products because of increased labor costs but I would be ok with that. As far as the children are concerned. This is a tough one for me. I feel bad for a lot of children in this world. Heck in my daughters own school. First I certainly don't think anything we are doing is inhuman to these children. They are being fed, housed and clothed. After that I don't know what the answer is. I am certainly not heartless. I don't think the answer is taking these children from their families and I certainly don't think the answer is giving any of these families a free ride. While I agree these children had nothing to do with politics, they also had nothing to do with the decision to break into our country. I have a very tough time rewarding that. I admit I don't have a correct answer with the children. Is Mexico the enemy? I don't think that the country of Mexico is the enemy of the United States but I think you can make a case that the drug cartels, gang members to some extent the Mexican government is. The government is corrupt, does nothing to stop the cartels, flow of drugs and the flow of people from other countries to our border. If they did, like with Canada, there would be no need for a wall. If we start getting an influx of illegals flowing over the border from Canada, drug cartels spilling over into northern states etc. I would be clammering for a wall there as well. I agree with you that a measly 10 or 20 foot wall won't do much, but a 20+ foot wall, I think they are asking for 30 with state of the are detection equipment would go a long way towards stopping people from just walking across. Again, thank you for your response and for keeping it very civil. When I was writing all this in regards to your response, it was evident that not all the answers are black and white.
