  1. Me and Bonnie too??? I'd love to do a cannonball with my big fat butt in that pool, while Mrs. grampy just rolls her eyes, and looks the other way!
  2. Kids and grandkids coming over for T-Bones on the grill tomorrow. May go out to the fairgrounds in Cobleskill for fireworks in the evening. Friday, I need to finish up a project at work, will be out by noon, to mow grass and tend to the garden. Saturday is a work day at the farm property. But I'm sure we will do a little fun stuff too. Sunday is try to beat my grandson with a better bow target score!!! (he won last week) Also maybe some trigger time at the range with our hunting rifles.
  3. That is exactly what I'm thinking. May look at the Montec's, as they are pretty small, and I have shot them from my old bow. They actually did shoot very well from that bow. But never did hunt with them, I gave them to a new hunter.
  4. I'll be using a new bow this year. Set at 48lbs, I'm wondering what would be a good broadhead? I have used Muzzy and Thunderhead 100gr fixed heads in the past with good results. Should I stick with one of those, or perhaps try something new since I'm shooting lower poundage? The Magnus Black Hornet heads look good, though expensive. But will they perform any better than the ones I've used, with the lower draw weight?
  5. Really nice truck Biz! Congratulations!
  6. I've been wearing them off and on for hunting, since my army days. Comfy, and breaks up the outline of your head better when deer are in close. Especially when hunting from ground level like I do. And I think they look cool too!
  7. Congrats on a very nice truck Belo!!
  8. Ish..... and give or take......I thought were common terms when estimating yardage.....no??
  9. Congratulations to your daughter!! A big step taken, on the walk of life.
  10. Dude....you are too much. Do you actually believe we are all that dumb??? C'mon man.... For the record, I liked Stormy better...........
  11. I wonder if it was any good???.......
  12. Congratulations to you and your lovely bride Eddie!! 57 years is a milestone that not many reach! I guess at this point, she's learned to just ignore you at times!!!!....... Wishing you both many, many more years together.
  13. Good for you Mike! I honestly feel that preparation is the golden key to deer hunting success, for most areas. And especially if you had a down season the year before! You got your bow shooting good. Now just shoot and shoot some more. That will boost your confidence big time going in to October! The other thing would be to think about, and perhaps tweak your stand selections. And possibly find a new set up or two, that will put deer closer to, and in front of you a little more often? You know the property, and have a good idea of what I'm talking about. Have fun until the season. Best of luck to you during it!!
  14. I'm sure he got all the plate numbers, and probably sat behind the wheel of moogs jeep, and left a surprise under, or maybe on the seat....... What a great gathering! WNY gtg's rock!!!!
  15. Some great responses, thanks guy's! I'm going to give it a try from November first to the end of bow season. Most all my hunting is done at ground level. So I'll have the decoy facing away at twenty yards or so, looking in to the thick cover I expect the bucks to be moving through. The wind will be coming from the thicket and the decoy to me. Hopefully, if the buck comes in to scent check, it will be between the decoy and me, for a chip shot? I love the white hanky idea for the tail! And putting scent under the decoy makes great sense. Definitely will just stash it out nearby, or even in a pop up blind, when not in use. If it doesn't work, oh well. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. But there are a couple of set ups we have, where it might just work! Is there a particular brand of decoy that stands out to you guys? I do have a 3D target, but it's heavy and cumbersome to move around.
  16. Very cool mount! Looks great!
  17. I agree, looks like you both had an awesome trip!!! Great fishing! Nice pics too!! Way to go my friend!!
  18. Great day on the water today boys!!! Have a great time tonight too! Wish I could be there with ya's!!! Have one for me!!! Keep your selves safe.
  19. Didn't get over there. But I've heard it's been good too. Fished China Town and Stoney Point. Along the deep weed edges down 12 to 16 feet with jigs and weighted Senco's.
  20. An all star line up!!! Have fun guy's! Wish I could be there. What is the current line, on having a pic of Biz standing on his chair??
  21. No not that Wild Bill....lol Way to go!!! We both had a great day! Your fishing partner was way prettier than mine though!!
  22. Well finally I got out on the water today! Ol' Wild Bill and I did good up at Saratoga! About 40 bass in the boat between us. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face! This is the best medicine I've had in quite awile!
  23. There are some places in NY where you can find them in good numbers. Tongue Mt. outside of Lake George is just one. A few places in the Catskills too. We have a den site for timbers on the farm property. Been there for as long as I remember. In the spring and fall, you can usually find a couple there. We leave it alone, and don't bother them. The exact location we keep to ourselves. Only three times in over 50 years have we seen one outside of that spot. Copperheads are a bit more common, but very rarely seen too. This is in Albany County. I learned a lot about venomous snakes when I lived in SC and Fl. in my younger days.
