  1. Good job jerkman. I'm headed out for my first sit of the season. Should be an interesting sit.
  2. Congrats Rob and everyone else who connected! I've been following along getting more and more excited. My first sit of the season will be tomorrow morning if the weather holds.
  3. Nice write up. I was semi familiar with CWD, but not EHD. If all the midges die seasonally with the cold, I wonder how the virus comes back year after year?
  4. So if we can comment here, how is it different from the Live from the Woods thread?
  5. Poop. Think they'll dry in time for Saturday morning?
  6. I'm in. How'd the forum members make out last time around?
  7. I don't hate this option...
  8. I don't know what's more impressive, the body, or the rack. Nice deer.
  9. Good looking gun and good price. I'm still waiting on my permit or I'd take a closer look.
  10. I can't wait to read about this year's adventures! Speaking of which, didn't you start a bear track 4 hours ago??
  11. Just what I need.. something else to get me even more excited for the season..
  12. I'm still working on my setup. Having a new baby in the house really limited my time to work on it this summer. Some of your builds look great! I think I'm going to change my plan just a bit based on some info i see here. I kinda like the open top option, with an enclosed and covered ground level.
  13. stands are all placed, shooting lanes are cleared (more or less), clothes are hanging outside, new bow setup and arrow setup are dialed in, tags are purchased. Game cart and car basket are ready in the garage. All I have left is to pack the pack (water, snack, orange tape, ziploc bags, zip ties, disp gloves, etc...) but that's easy.
  14. For what it's worth @518BowSlayer I plan to do my part to give you practice material this year!
  15. I stumbled across their channel about a year ago and i'm hooked. It cracks me up when they take their shoes off while they stalk. I've learned a few things from these guys.
  16. Could go either way from the pic. Do you have any other pix of him from other angles?
  17. Not sure where you're located, but just saw this and thought your friend may be interested. Rochester CL ad for a Bushnell unit for $85. https://rochester.craigslist.org/spo/d/penfield-bushnell-sport-450-rangefinder/7200747940.html
  18. Same as a few others on here, I have a Halo with ARC. Spent about $100 on it a few years ago. Simple to use and accurate.
  19. What an awesome experience. Thanks for sharing!
  20. I'll get out as soon as schedule and weather allow me to. I tend not to hunt hard this early and really focus on late October - early December.
  21. In a nutshell, there are 2 components we're talking about here: the spine (stiffness), and the arrow weight. Spine is a measurement of how much that arrow is going to flex when you shoot it. the higher the number, the less stiff the arrow is going to be. The weight is just that, how heavy the arrow is. If you have time, there is a Youtube personality (he's a bit much, but seems to know his stuff) called the ranch fairy. This guy really knows his stuff when it comes to arrows. You may want to check his vid's out.
  22. I'm curious about these. Does the number of layers you're wearing come into play? Meaning, is there a difference using it while wearing shorts and a t-shirt rather than the coveralls and parka you may wear in late November?
