Coyote Weapon of Choice

Those are some great looking guns you guys are using! Damn, you must have a few bucks tied up in them. Have you killed lots of coyotes with them? I rarely see the darn things when I have a gun in my hand.

Anybody ever kill a coyote, on purpose? Not while deer hunting?

223. Ive been using my Remmy 700 topped with a Vortex Crossfire 2.5-16x50 scope and a bipod.

I am tired of lugging that 26" bull barrel around though, so for this year Ill be putting that scope and rings on my AR for coyote duty.

What are you guys using? This will be my first year purposely going after them. A buddy bought an electronic call and decoy and we're just going out for the fun of it. I have killed one with a bow during dear.

I've heard anything from buck shot to 30-06 and even .22.

Not sure..we have big woods, so not much open shooting. I have taken them up to 80 yards, but probably wouldnt go much further. We use the mags, because we get alot of bayups with the dogs and need the small caliber

I use whatever I've got... I've hunted yotes with anything from a .223 bull barreled varmint rifle, 300 win mag, 30-06, 12ga shotgun, to 50 cal ML. I've even taken red fox with a bow, but no yotes yet with one.

right now my guns of choice are a savage m12 in .223 Rem topped with a Nikon varmint scope and my Benelli Supernova with burris fast fire red dot.

I tote a 12ga with #4buck and a .22mag. I've used my dads rig a few times and it's hard to beat. M&P15(.223) topped with an ATN Gen3 nightvision scope

primary yote gun is the 22-250 with 50gr super performance ammo but if the wind is blowing ill use my tikka t3 308 with 110 gr hollow points

When your coyote hunting, don't you have to follow the same laws for use of gun as you did for gun season? And woukd a 30-30 work?

I havt=nt seen one while hunting in the woods before however I have taken a yote with my work truck. ....lol felt like a small speed bump
