It had to be still fairly warm for the skin to "leave" that easily which is probably the main factor. At least that's my guess.

I've never seen it done that fast but one thing that I noticed from living in the south now a lot of hunters down here do not field dress their deer and do it when butchering. Obviously this is done immediately after killing the deer but it seems to be the way a lot of southern hunters do it.

Makes sense if you're close to the skinning/processing place but if you've got a long drag just to get to the car - not really feasible.   I've actually seen guys skin 'em using a car - never done it myself though

I know a guy who uses his atv similarly.

I agree, doubt that could be done with a deer that has 2" of fat under its hide that has hung overnight in 30 degree temperature.

never timed myself but i can have whole deer skun, cut and ground ready for freezer in an hour. that what matters if you skin fast and butcher slow or have hair all over what good is it?

Skinning a warm deer, like that one appeared to be, is way faster than doing one that has been hanging, but still…that guy was pretty damn good.

When trying this technique make sure you have a really thick rope or a chain (To pull the skin and to hold the deer), I learned the hard way and had my deer go flying to the back of the barn

It was funny but I was pissed at the time because I broke the rope I was using to tow it with and then the force from that rope breaking just made the whole thing fly backwards and slip from around its neck. At that time I was exhausted because it was only me there to start processing it ha

using that golf ball trick requires a hide still warm.  if it starts to freeze you'll tear muscle tissue and ruin cuts of meat.

I sell my hides...so I'd loose shell buying money...got 4-5 bucks a hide this year...
