Vacation?

When is everyone using up their vacation. I am off from Oct 31st till Nov 12th. Hope to see some good action. Last year I took the 7th-20th of November and only saw a hand full of deer. So I am going back to the first full week of November. Just want to hear what everyone else is doing.

Off Nov 1 to 11th and back at work on the 12th to give me a few days of non-hunting to be ready for opening of gun.

 

Usually take the two week block but work got in the way for the first time in many years.

11/1-11/16 .. Cannot wait! Some serious nap..I mean hunting time..lol ..Invariably during an all day sit I nap for an hour or so...

5th through the 9th.  They are calling for a more "standard" rut this year so I'm hoping I hit it big time.

I stated on Oct 27th and go,back a few days after opening day of gun.....

Although a NYC wedding is killing 3 days next week ! But I plan to hunt hard before and after ,so could be a nice break .

Today I saw 8 bucks,,two shooters and a couple of the young ones were chasing does all over. A wide 8pt walking the open hardwoods at 10:00 am,saw him yesterday at 9:30 a couple hundred yards over in a thicket. I'll be Hitting it hard Sunday to Thur.

I always take the first week of gun, and depending on the weather, I might take a "sick" day here and there,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

All good vacations in my book.  However, I feel the heart of the chasing phase will be around the 9th.  I adjusted my vacation few days ago.  I'm off 4th-16th. 

 

I seriously think anytime after the 5th is GO time!

The best action I usually have on camera is from 11\5-11/12. I'm planning for some stand time then.

I took my first day off today and plan to pick and choose 5 work days to take off between Nov 3rd and 14th based on weather. 

ncountry, i nap sometimes too but am trying not to this year and to help with that I take a 5hr engergy drink with me now. I had a decent 8, 14" spread sneak in at 1:15pm on and all day sit today. He came in and worked a scrape right in front of me. I have not heard a grunt or seen any chasing yet. I have a feeling when it does start, it's going to be a strong rut this year.

Taking Mondays and Tuesdays off for the next couple of weeks so four day weekends. Then first week of gun season. Any time between now and then should be really good this year.

3 day next weekend then I'm off from the 14-23 I'll hunt the 14 15 16 17 come home for a few days to help with the 3 little ones dance class and ice hockey then go back Friday sat sun

T - 1 more freakin day at work then off thru the 11th. Sadly my first full week ive taken this yr.

Red, same boat you are.  My vacation differs, I take most of my time off during bow.  Either way, where is hockey?  I have little ones, dance and hockey too.

wIsh could have taken the last week of bow of and really wanted to but some really big prevailing jobs came up this week and they would love to have the poles in the last week of bow

I took every Friday off in November and have 2 holidays so with 8 weekend days I have 15 days off in November to be out

I have tues as a holiday so took monday. Same thing following week. 2 - 4 day weekends in a row.. Going to hunt hard.

I pretty much have 52 weeks of vacation each year . I retired in 1998 ........

I sure wish I could take vacation time off from school... I have work on the weekends and because it's only part time it's hard to take off so I requested the 13th-16th off... And any afternoons or days off from school i will be utilizing
