sits in trees
Sometimes when I'm wandering the big woods and looking for a place to post I have a real hard time finding a place to sit. Any of you ever tried one of these seats. I was wondering if setting it low would give you the ability to put your elbow to your knee for a steady aim? turkeyfeathers
Glad you post this. Won one in s raffle last year. Never used it but it's in the trunk of my car. Only thing is transportation of it into woods. Should have come with a drawstring bag or such. Won't fit in my backpack. Maybe cut out a nice hole thru the top and it's a portable potty : )
The_Real_TCIII
That seat would be the berries for a flooded timber duck hunt
kpkot
They aren't bad only flaw is carrying it. Slightly awkward, but still lighter than a climber... That specific model allows you to swivel which is a nice feature. Someone posted a tree hammock once that looked interesting to try as a seat. sits in trees
It's only supposed to weight 4 pounds which after walking thru the woods for 20 mins will be 40 lbs of course.

philoshop
I've had one for about 15 years, and it's great for hunting steep hillsides where other kinds of seats are impractical. I don't see any reason it couldn't be hung low enough to use your knees while shooting, but I tend to keep it up high enough so that I can occasionally lift my feet and wiggle my toes to stay warm. If it's mounted off to the side of the tree from where you expect to see game it's even possible to use the seat itself as a gun rest for longer ranges if you have the time to slide off and get set up. sits in trees
I did order one just now from Cabelas and will try it out dressed in my gear on a nearby tree out back before I take it on a hunt. I'll be getting it dec3 and will let yawl know...
deerpassion
Don't see why not, as long as you see them coming and have the opportunity to slip off the seat it'll make a nice rest! Took the top section of my climber out this year ( no rail) , made a great seat and shot a doe with my gun propped up on the seat ! DirtTime
I have one. It's older but still does what it should. Not super comfy. I never tried setting it low, knees and back angle might be a pain to deal with. They are light and you can fit them in a pack.
pewlodar
Have a model like that but this is much better....provides easier movement and much more comfy http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/25548-new-hunting-seat/#entry355112
maytom
I carry at times a folding stool with a pouch and sling. I can stuff the pouch with a lunch, water, etc. and love the back support too. Think I got mine at Gander Mtn.

airedale
I have a strap on seat that I like using when not in a permanent ground or tree stand. There are times when I like moving around checking out places for different stands. They are much better than sitting on the ground as they are comfortable for long periods and when comfortable I fidget less, also your outline is not well seen as you are backed up against a tree. Mine is a bit bulky and a little cumbersome but worth the effort to carry. Al Edited April 30, 2016 by airedale
hunter49
I use one , I think they work great you can use them where a chair with legs won't sit level or tight next to a tree.

Jaeger
I have and use a seat exactly like you show but now only at semi-permanent sites. It got too heavy and cumbersome to carry while still hunting. I just got a screw in type tree seat that open up into a T shape and has a triangular support that folds down against the tree after I screw it in with the 4+" tapered screw. I know I can only use it on private land and with permission, but it is so much lighter and more compact. I'll post a pic (when I can get pic reduction figured out) and a review before next season.
