Don't forget all the fancy bread ..... Italian, Rye, pumpernickel ..... and real butter. Yeah real butter is bad for you, but it's only one meal.

Hey! I like the idea of French onion soup ..... one of my favorites until I burn the hell out of my mouth when the molten cheese sticks to my lip.

Let's hear a bit more about those desserts. Anyone up for one of those 8" high carrot cakes with whatever that great frosting is that they put on those?

We all gather at my parents on xmas eve and being from an all italian household its traditional in our culture that eveything is seafood related. Of course a pasta dish is served along with steamed mussels in a an oil/garlic white sauce, both raw and breadcrumb stuffed clams, octopus/seafood cold salad, shrimp, homemade cheese, proscuitto, soppresatta,  various cheeses and the best brick oven italian  and semolina breads that can only  be found in Brooklyn. And dessert are cakes, home made fig cookies, various pasteries /canolies from local bakeries and homemade cheese cakes. On xmas day i go to my mother in laws and she serves up Prime rib for the main course along with stuffed shells pasta and alot of similar desserts as mentioned above. Cant wait..

I usaully do a 15-16 pound rib for x-mas dinner for all the family. Sauted' green beens, smashed taters, au jus a good bread, some kind of salad. My wife will do up some appitizers beforehand as well. My sister, whom I'm concerned may be adopted, does not eat red meat so I usually make another dish like sea bass or salmon plank grilled for her and anyone else that may like something different. The family brings all kinds of pies and x=mas cookies. That is the plan for now. I was thinking of doing smoked turkey but cold and rain forcast is shelving that idea I think!

I make deviled ribs for lunch the next day with the rib bones man I like those!! And make prime rib soup with some leftovers.

Monday is my last day of the year for work two weeks vacation to use up since we didn't hunt NY this year took a doe during NH bow season & a buck during NH rifle so I will be doing a Venison roast, Venison meatballs with venison meat sauce with Pasta & a ham. I am not sure what else my wife & daughters are working on the rest while I take care of the main dishes. I really wanted to smoke the roast but last year I had a hard time maintaining the temp so it will be crock potted have 3 more roasts one of them will get smoked

Last year we did a crockpot bar for Christmas Eve at my Uncle's place. Everyone made something different in the crockpots and it turned out awesome. This year we are going more traditional with a Ham but mixing it up a bit with a baked potato bar and all the fixins, Tossed salad, green bean casserole, bread, shrimp, and several other appetizers and of course dessert. My wife makes an easy peanut butter pie that is a huge hit.

My clan gathers at my place on Christmas Eve, I was doing deep fried Turkey as the main course for many years but I switched over to having roast Turduchens for the past 5 or 6 years. I am addicted to the things. Will also do a Kentucky ham along with all the traditional holiday fixings.

We alway have a big breakfast of some type of egg dish and then have a big meal around 3. We cook a big ham, homemade mac and cheese (Oscar's 12 year old cheeses), a green bean casserole, squash and maybe mashed potatoes. The next few days we have lots of leftovers and finally I make a big pot of pea soup using the ham bone.....

Dessert is apple and pumpkin pie, maybe a homemade chocolate cheesecake and pumpkin roll with cream cheese filling.

Christmas day is also my daughter's birthday so we often have a birthday cake along the way for her......

Way to much food that's what we will be having from Christmas Eve dinner all the way through dessert on Christmas day!

Christmas Eve dinner starts it all off with everyone making an appetizer style dish to eat as we talk, drink and open up gifts. No formal sitting down for this meal. Every year the food changes but the staples are shrimp cocktail, cheese and crackers and Chili. Christmas Morning is a full blown breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, hashbrowns, toast, pancakes and all the coffee and juice you can drink. Christmas dinner is a more traditional with Ham, green beans, mashed potatoes and a whole bunch of other fixings. For dessert there will be about 6 different cakes and pies to choose from.

I really love this time of year. Has to be my favorite holiday and it has nothing to do with getting gifts.

We normally do a pasta dish and I make venison meat balls...So what happens every year we all sit around in the kitchen talking and joking eating all the goodies..Did I mention the shrimp...and then we play Yahtzee or shut the box..Oh can't forget the Christmas movies, Christmas vacation is a must..Having bowls of the french onion soup( wish is a specialty of mine), Then are too full to eat...lol This year it's less goodies...then a sit down meal, open gifts and dessert. The kids have their designated drivers set...and I don't have to worry....Dinner has to have a good wine...and the boys need their JD or Jameson  toast..

Our tradition is everyone gets to be at their own homes on Christmas day for their own personal traditions...So Mr B and I have a quiet day going over gifts ,chatting and enjoying Christmas music...I usually make a quiche and sausage and fresh fruit, unless we are still full from the night before. We all open spouse gifts at our own homes.

Christmas Eve at our house. Inlaws, her sister and son, her aunt and uncle and my folks . That's what we get for buying a nice Amish built table from PA years back. Ham, asparagus, fried haddock, mashed taters, gravy, salad, some death by chocolate no flour cake my wife makes. Now that daughter knows "the Santa thing" I don't have to write her a note left handed from him (I'm right handed) saying how good she's been all year, lol.

Christmas day will be Danish puff at my folks in the morning with hopeful leftovers from eve for dinner. Then beer and watch The Christmas Story over and over again.
