noodle one
Out this morning clearing the frost off my truck and heard a robbin singing. Had to look for a while before I found him sitting a tree. the first of the year is always good to see and I know spring is not far behind. I also heard some geese and had to look hard to find them . They where flying way up high and headed north, also a good sign. I can't wait till trout and steelhead fishing. Come on spring.

G-Man
Robins never leave my place, sure sign of spring are the turkey buzzards... saw a bunch yesterday!! in westfield, and dunkirk. When they show up spring is a sure thing!!
WNYBuckHunter
Thats funny, the buzzards never really leave this area, been seeing them all winter. I havent seen a robin just yet, but I dont see any temps below the 40s in the 10 day forecast, and a bunch in the 50s on there! Looks like the worst is behind us, bring on the warm weather! Doewhacker
What a difference a week can make..now if I could just accelerate the snow melt I would be fine. I am betting I'll have snow of some type till Mid-April, hope I'm wrong.

hunter49
Snow piles almost gone, had a pair of blue birds at the nest box 2 days ago & the buzzards are floating around the last couple of days, looking up!
Dave
The crocus are popping up on Long Island and the Daffadil stems are starting to push up through the ground. Robins have been here all winter. Starting to hear the birds singing in the early morning spring can't be far behind. All the snow is gone!!!!!!!!! Dave

Fantail
I would like nothing more then the snow to be gone at camp so I can get some $3|^ done. But it's still March, not for much longer guys.
nyantler
I should be able to walk into camp soon, but driving materials in for some of the work that needs to be done will be a while yet.
max3
I saw a bunch of robins last week as well as a couple the week before. My friend saw two woodcock last thursday and I saw one five miles from that sighting on sunday. Typical though for where I live in the Oneonta area . I think the susqauhana river is a natural flyway. steve863
We shouldn't forget that it's still only March, so snow is surely still possible. A few years ago I remember having a few inches of snow during the early part of May during turkey season in the Catskill area where I hunt. So I guess we shouldn't think that it's over just yet!
