I'm later than usual for checking cameras, but I am off to a good start.  There are three or four bucks that I am able to identify and track through the property.  Unfortunately, also too many pictures of coyotes, including one that I think is a pup.

Looks like he lost one side early on, velvet is covering the stump.

Coyote pup?

One of several.  I saw a nice red one the other day, yipping and barking mid day in the middle of the field.

Four in one shot, all younger boys.

These two are together a lot, for now...

I actually like the dark ops shot here, looks cool.

Some recent card pulls.....  I don't have any pictures of the larger bucks that were roaming the area earlier this summer.   I do have 3 or 4 smaller bucks still around, but I expect that all to be upside down in the next couple of weeks.

I have a video of this guy rubbing the small tree in front of him. I_00000.thumb.JPG.10738c71e6c7e7ae07c8b3908aa1e465.JPG

This is the wide rack buck that I have several pictures of.  He is on my hit list for sure! 59fc9b21d962e_IMG_0008(2).thumb.JPG.9918a11237f2b7a52feab5aa7c8c1f3e.JPG

Zoomed in and edited shot of this poor guy.  Not sure what happened to him, but he is now "Mr Ugly".

My hot corner with no stand (at this point).

The branch above is a licking branch with scrape underneath.  Several bucks and does visit it regularly.   Hoping a larger boy comes nearby soon.

I also have a nice big fat doe roaming around and a doe tag to punch.  I am eating up or giving away all my venison.  I want an empty freezer to motivate me to fill it!

Update on this deer.  It was shot by my neighbor on opening day (on a 3 acre plot I own and I allow him to hunt on).  We had bumped him when walking in at 6:25 am, and again around 11:00 am.  He was shot around 4 pm from 20 feet.  6 points, 18.5" spread.   I also have a long distance picture of him mating with his doe 3 days before opening day.

I'm trying hard to be happy for him! Not there yet....

No trail cam pics to load, but i am just tracking my hunting during the gun season:

Sat 11/18 Opening Day, hunted 6:30 to dark. Saw the wide rack first thing in AM and my buddy bumped him again that afternoon.  Shot by Nieghbor later that day.  Buddy shot his first buck that day too, 5 minutes after legal light. Names newly placed stand “Sardinia”. It’s in an island in the middle of an alfalfa field.

Sun 11/19 Still hunted swamp trail 9am to noon, saw one deer, unknown if doe or buck.  Sat in 20 point stand from 2:30 to dark, no deer seen.

Mon 11/20 Sat in Sardinia from 3:00 to dark.  Saw a doe with smaller deer at 4:25pm, shot and missed.   Tracked her for half an hour, no blood, no running.

Tue 11/21 Sat in 20 pt stand, 3pm to dark no deer seen at all.

Wed 11/22 Did not hunt.

Thurs Thanksgiving: did not hunt (lazy, no excuse)

Fri 11/24 Hunted 6:30am to dark, 1 hour break at lunch.  Started in 20 pt stand until 10am, then still hunted until 1pm.  Sat from 2 until dark in 20pt stand, no deer seen at all.

Sat 11/25 did not hunt - had chores to do and 2 family parties.

Sun 11/26 hunted from 6:30 to dark, 3 hours break for dinner at noon.  Sat in ground blind in morning, then 20pt for afternoon hunt.  No deer during legal time, went to drop my backpack down from the tree and a young doe is 10 years from my stand.  Stare down for 15 min, then she calmly walks away.  Walking back home, i spot the doe and yound deer from Monday feeding near pond.  Walked within 10 yards of her, wind in my face.  Backed out and walked around the pond to front of property, she kept feeding.

Will update as season goes.
