To me it shows a lack of knowledge on a subject, similar to copy and paste responses.

The biggest problem is that there is no immediate, 'microwaveable' solution to these mass shootings. The erosion of society and culture has taken decades to achieve, and it will likely take even more decades to restore. The "gun control" proposals are band-aids on serious wounds, meant to make people feel like something is being done, while at the same time advancing the very problems they're meant to solve. This is the Democrat Dilemma: create a problem, then offer a 'solution' that furthers the problem so that another 'solution is required... I've watched it unfold for over 40 years.

Adkhunter1590
I just had a “discussion” with someone on FB over the articles about the 18 “school shootings” in January. A 31 yr old commuting suicide in his car in a school parking lot was considered a “school shooting” by these liberal media outlets. My discussion with this person was about how I think it’s BS and totally misleading to categorize a suicide as a “school shooting”. Another one was a group of adults getting into a argument in a school parking lot and one of them pulled out a gun. Again, not a school shooting in my opinion. The person I was talking with completely dismissed my opinions and still believes that all 18 should be classified as school shootings. Is it just me or is the mass majority of this country stuck on F—kin stupid??!
Doc
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Fun little definition of insanity, but has a powerful ring of truth when one looks at the long history of gun laws and their actual effectiveness. So how long are these mental midgets going to keep clinging to this same mentality of insane repetition of piling gun law after gun law, each time declaring success and never realizing that they have really done nothing?

So how do we eliminate or reduce the possibility of more murdering? So how about defining solutions? Do you agree that the distribution, sale and use of illegal drugs is the major root cause of gun violence? So why not execute or imprison for life at hard labor those who provide dope to drug addicts who are apparently mentally ill since what sane person would take dope into their body? Why not treat all dope addicts once as mental ill patients and send them for REAL rehabilitation? Ask countries who have little or no dope problems how they solve the problem. Do you agree that America needs an overhaul of its mental health system? Are too many of the mentally ill under medicated, over medicated or left on the street to endanger others? So do we build more mental institutions to institutionalize those who are a danger to society before they commit crime? Do you agree that the Americas youth (70% are UNFIT for military service) are being raised by incompetent families and teachers? So how do you "legislate" or "train" parents? So how do you fix a welfare system that enables single motherhood with social programs to finance the absence of a father? So how do you prevent the 70% from being unfit for military service? Do you agree that bullying (the shooter was reported to have been bullied) is a problem that provokes some into violence or suicide? So how do you deal with a bully? 10 hours ago, philoshop said: I have a few solutions: Stop normalizing violence as a solution to every problem, particularly gun violence. It seems to be held up as 'the solution' in nearly every movie or video game out there. It's the entire basis of the entertainment industry. Stop the attack on Christian values. Belief in God and the power of prayer was stitched into our nation's founding. It's being systematically destroyed. It doesn't need to be adopted by everyone, but it should be respected by every American. Bring the Pledge of Allegiance back into the schools. A sense of patriotism is important among the youth. Reintroduce the "Civics" class in schools so that kids can learn what the U.S. Constitution is all about. Restrict the age of social media use to those over 18 years of age so that it isn't so detrimental to the development of children. These are just a few, but I could certainly go on... These are issues that have been created by the Leftists, and any solution to these issues will be violently opposed by the leftists. That's why there is no easy solution. Yep, I’m stupid! to think I could have a rational discussion with irrational people. Especially ones who have to use other people’s quotes to speak their mind. Hope this never happens to any kids, wives, or parents you know. have 3 vets guarding every building. Then you will complain about paying extra taxes. You don't have to be of any particular ideology at all, but it helps to be an analytical thinker that doesn't advocate giving up your rights and freedoms with the misguided hope things will be solved. You have to expect criticism and rebuttal when your beliefs are really far to the left of the Constitution, adversely affecting freedom and liberty. It might help to start thinking why it is common for the government to demand we sacrifice our rights and liberties every time some crisis occurs, especially when the problem is not solved and the government's purposes are beneficent. The Constitution was written to restrict the power of the government. It has every motive to undermine that document as much as it can get away with. People who are lulled into a sense of security by the siren song of government, need to be warned. It would not surprise me if much of the anarchy we see today is intentionally caused by the government. I feel one must respond to calls requesting we give up freedoms and rights, especially when the chances of solving the problem are zero. I also welcome an intelligent debate on any subject if the other side can stick to facts supporting their case and do it while remaining civil. Sometimes I find it hard to do myself, but that should be the goal. It is reasonable for Americans to be wary of policy proposals that would likely be ineffective, yet would negate our most precious individual rights. It is also worse than that when regarding the problems of violence. While we are all busy patting ourselves on the back for the latest rounds of worthless gun laws, all our efforts and resources and energies are being squandered chasing worthless solutions that have been proven through history to be absolutely ineffective at lessening the escalating violence. Instead of using a bit of analysis and real logical thinking or even the most fundamental and basic intelligence, humans are fond of simply flailing about without much real thought at what the true problems are. We go after the guns, not even thinking for a minute that they are really inanimate things that can do nothing without the sick individuals to misuse them. Guns are not the root causes of violence are they? But for many decades, laws and restrictions on guns have kept our consciences soothed and satisfied and ignorantly thinking that we have actually done something significant.
