a six pointer has been all over my cams where i am hunting tomorrow and with a poor bow season he is trouble for sure esp with the crossgun.

i am betting on Fletch to end this streak tonite though !

I don't want to sound too cocky but...I will be posting pics of the deer I get with xbow by Sunday evening at the latest. Half dozen trips so far with my vertical and nothing to show for it. Had it at the range at lunch and dead  nuts at ranges I plan on shooting. Too many deer within lethal xbow range to count during this period.

Update: I have a guy watching the property for me. In exchange for him keeping an eye out, I give him permission to hunt on it with his son. He knows about the trespasser problems down there and has been my eyes and ears when I can't be there. He calls me a little while ago and says they see a person hunting and confronted him. The guy tells them "yeah, I know it's posted. So what?" My contact backs out and relays this to me. They drive around but there is no sign of a car on any of the bordering roads. I call the DEC and they send a CO out. They asked if I wanted him arrested. I said no, not the first time. Just get his information and let him know that he isn't permitted to be there. They walk into the area where the guy was but were unable to locate the guy. All of this happens in the spot I was planning to hunt Sunday. This is getting old fast..

My friend... his “first chance” was defying your friend that is watching the property. If he apologized and left never to return ok. He has shown clear disregard for your property. I think letting the DEC arrest him is the only solution if you get a chance to make an ID on him.

A property owner could have a lot of fun with posted signs. Make them custom including hash marks and a label next to them indicating how many people have had the police called on them and been arrested. Just make up some hash marks--that would scare most people away.

I hadn't thought of this, but I like it! I also like an idea I read in another post about mixing it up with posted signs and "this property is under electronic surveillance" signs.

Guys, remember I said I found what looked like a recently used Buck bed on a ridge couple of days ago?
Behold, the owner:

I just pulled these pics. Now I need to figure out how to get 'im.
How you enter the woods can be the difference between seeing him and him seeing you first....

On the boundary of my lease with friendlies I have my name and phone number and it says "call before tracking"

Any other side is straight up "NO TRESSPASSING"

I love ya bro but what's up with those ears...looks like one of my labs just ate a hind quarter and is ready for discipline

Lmao! Idk man that’s just the way it came when I bought the stupid thing years ago. I think Primos made it, called Mrs. November. She’s a blow up doll. I never understood the ears and everyone laughs at her. She may be ugly, but once the rut kicks in those bucks are so horned up they will try humping anything willing haha!! I think the box said something about her being made to appear as a submissive doe ready to breed.

The moment he said "so what" would have been the moment I wanted him arrested. He's going to be back with an attitude like that, but he might be more careful now.

I try to be the nice guy, i really do. An arrest can have long lasting effects. But I think you're all right. If I don't take a hard stance on this it's going to continue to be something that i have to deal with. If I get another chance to get a CO in there while he's there, or if i can get a picture of his tags, I'll take this to the next level.

Back to hunting.. TurkeyFeathers - did you arrow the monster 18 point that you're waiting for?  With all the time and patience you've put in, you've certainly earned it..

Anyone ever spook does off your property? I tried a little buck bomb estrus near a scrape on Halloween. I believe it even says ok for pre-Rut. All my does are gone. I normally have them on multiple cams daily and now nothing. I still have buck movement. Mainly smaller bucks at 7pm and 5am. What did I do to my fawn generators???

Hello everyone I’m currently looking at a house in deposit ny I’ve been deer hunting for many year mainly in Columbia and Greene county never been to Broome county. Before anything I was just curious how is the hunting there ? I know there aren’t any antlered restrictions in Broome but are there monsters out there or is it mainly just small spike? If anyone from that county or knows about deposit and broome county would get back to me i would appreciate it. Hope everyone hunting today catch a big one thanks.

The procedure below to carry the bow is detailed below:
You have to use a cotton towel or something similar. You have to wrap it around the bowstring. Doing so ensures that it will not cause an injury with the bowstring coming in contact with your body. It will not be that sharp either. Once you cover the bowstring with the towel, you have to wear it like a sling. So that it will not fall away from your body. The best way to cover the bowstring is to use a large enough towel. You can wrap it around twice as well. When making a sling out of the cotton towel, you have to ensure that you tighten it to get a snug fit. In that case, it will not slip away. Consequently, it will remain in place. When using this technique to carry a bow on your back, it is essential to practice before going in the wilderness. Only when you can move briskly and without noise using the scanning mechanism should you go ahead with it. To remove the bow, you have to hold it at the bottom. After that, you have to slip it over your head as well as arm. Doing so ensures that you can remove it quickly. When trying to focus on a prey, you need to remove the bow quickly. The technique for removal that we have highlighted above can certainly help you do so.

Just want to relay an experience I had this weekend regarding hunting regulations and other hunters.
I've had several  hunter's tell me last weekend(10/12/2020) that muzzleloader was open, it is not. I also had two other hunters last weekend confront me as to why my son was carrying around a rifle and hunting deer. I calmly explained the youth weekend and the rules around it. After that everything was cool and we continued our hunt.
I know at the end of the day we're all trying to participate in a sport we love and maybe harvest some game. My thought is to just make sure you're up on your local hunting regulations. Not just so you are within the rules, but also so you can assert your right to be where you are, hunting the way you're hunting.
I know when I have been operating outside of the regulations I have appreciated a person respectfully correcting my ignorance and I try to pay it forward by being informed and respectfully educating when required.
Thanks for listening, off my SB...

      Hello,
I am in the process of purchasing my first rifle to go hunting deer for the first time.  However, I have received contradicting information regarding the types of rifles that are legal.  Based on what I have read, it appears that I am able to use a bolt-action rifle with a pistol grip and a detachable magazine which holds 10 rounds.  However, I have been told that this is not the case. I can't seem to find where this is stated.  Can any one here provide me with some insight into this? I'd really appreciate it.
      Thanks in Advanced,
      Alfredo
