2019 rutcation

Has anyone planned a 2019 rutcatation im thinking the 8th through the 17th hunt bow and go right into opening day.

Yeap. Ours starts 11/6 then for the next 2 weeks..

Oct 24-28, nov 1-4, nov 10-19, nov 22-25, nov 27-dec 2.  dec 6,7, and 13 for pa gun. Went a little overboard this year lol.

During the rut, I only took the Friday before Veteran's day.  More often than not, that is all it takes to get the job done with the crossbow.

I like the way Hock did it with a bunch of 3-4 day  minications.   Whenever I take a week or two off in a row, I always find that the day I should have been in the woods is my first day back at work.  

So this year I told my boss that instead of taking my usual two weeks, I’d be in two days a week in November- when he asked which two days I told him I wanted to keep my staff on their toes so I’d be mixing up the days I’m in so they don’t get complacent.  

I couldn’t believe he went for it but the conversation ended with him saying “good idea. You should mention this at our next managers meeting.”  Haha gotta love when a plan comes together!

I should be able to take any day I want from mid October until mid December.  Our seasons are shorter here in VT, so there will be days I can work between seasons.  Definitely taking Nov 9 - Dec 1 for rifle season.

Since I'm retired, I can take all of it. I'll probably head out from Florida and get to camp by 11/10. I'll stay till the end of muzzleloader season.

All planned hunting days off including weekends all for bow.  And have a couple of personal days saved for gun as needed.

Where you work to get that much time off 

Prison guard for the state, we can swap shifts 365 days out. It takes 4 doubles a week for a couple months but it gives me hunting season off. It’s the only reason I have the job.
