I actually was off the site for 3 days.  This place was always different than the rest of the internet mess for the most part. Not "offended" by the language and stupid porn postings people do on here, just don't want to wade thru it when I am trying to look for news on some people's families that are nurses etc doing some great things.  Just a personal preference not to have to read people arguing that they know better than others etc . It becomes like the rest of the internet that I tend to also ignore.  If I owned the site I would clean a little house, but I don't so my decision to use it less is what I do.  Some great folks on here keep me around. But I also notice they are posting less and less and am guessing they feel about the same way.  The slurs, swearing and gay porn I can do without. When I've decided I've had enough of it completely I will just be gone. Again not offended it's just not why I am here.  So been using it less and honestly haven't missed it that much.  Is what it is.  But it's getting old for me and fishing and turkey season is coming.

I definitely visit this site less than I used to. Not really sure why I come back other than it's on a favorite link on my work computer so I do check in for five minutes every so often. Most of my posts here lately have been not hunting related and that's a sign I'm not finding hunting content I engage with. I post some deer pics every now and then but social media has shifted to the other platforms. Admittedly it is way more wild wild west than this - if this ruffles feathers, don't go on some of these hunting groups in FB. That said, there is alot of value due to the platform size.

Circling back to the Rona, companies are doing data gathering on human behavior and how quarantine shifts it. People are eating poorer, exercising less, working more (for those who can WFH), drinking more alcohol, etc. Seems reasonable given state of affairs, but there has to be some good somewhere. People innovating new ways of doing things, etc. Don't see much of that reporting in any news outlets.

Meanwhile back to the real reason I started this  FLIPPING thread.  Someone pointed me in the direction of a second China outbreak a few days or so,ago. Not able to find any info newer than a week old as of right now.  Nothing in the news over there and nothing in social media. I’m told by boots on the ground it’s rumors and not to discuss as starting rumors has consequences.... 

From some articles it looks like a weak cluster and the government is taking no chances by lockdown of some caliber.  Seems like a prudent idea.

Though a few others contributed to the tirade too, I feel you did the right thing. And hopefully the time off will be temporary. Paul, as well as every member here, has a right to their own opinion. But there has to be a line on how it is expressed. Otherwise, why bother even having forum rules? And if a free for all is what you desire, perhaps this isn't the place for you? There are many other places on the net to participate in whatever you desire. I don't come here for that stuff. JMO.....

Thanks Rob. This pretty much somes up how I feel too. Some really great members on here, who contribute to make this place, the great outdoors forum that it is. It only takes a very few, to make it a place I'd rather avoid.

Breaking news... the articles quote the jia county website and state it says shit about lockdown. Just able to locate the jia county site and the only thing it reports end of March was two confirmed cases and 75 people they had contact with are being tested. 35 came back negative and rest are in process. This was like March 28. Sina is a big website in China and reports some measures will be taken, though does not go into what.

Back to the topic at hand.  Even I will admit that that I was wrong about this virus.  I've always been bumping my chest on how this virus is only slightly worst than the flu and for the most part and with proper medical care, I have full confidence on a full recovery for healthy individuals.  I did however underestimate the strain it would place on healthcare systems around the world.  The number of deaths are lower than the flu, suicides, etc. but keep in mind the C19 did this in a short amount of time instead of a whole year and it did this even while governments are throwing everything but the kitchen sink at it.  People should be taking this serious.

I've avoided any political arguments on this site.  I've had enough of it arguing with some individuals in the past who are no longer here and it's a big waste of my time so I won't engage in them anymore.  I will make some points though but I'm not going to respond to any comments about it because I refuse to be reeled back in.

1. There is no point in arguing with someone who whenever you come up with any evidence against something it is always deemed as fake new simply because it went against the other persons belief.  It's like talking to a wall.  I can do that at home.  I have 4 of them.

2. There are tons of people in the middle and it's okay they're there.  Not everyone has to be extreme right or left.  just because they don't agree with a point on the right doesn't mean they're a leftist or if they don't agree with a point on the left doesn't mean they are far right.

3. No one single person in this world is perfect.  Don't care who they are.  Not being perfect means they will mess up here and there and make mistakes.  It's okay to admire someone and still criticize some of their actions.
