Heard my first shot at 6:24am which was quite close by actually. I looked down my barrel right after the shot to see if i could make heads or tails of my iron sights.. not a chance. cant imagine using a scope.

where i hunt legal shooting time would be 6:57!!! By 7 o'clock i had counted 32 shots

First one I heard was 6:33 am. Looked through my scope, and even with that it was still pretty fuzzy, deer must have been really close.

my son and i were walking in about 5:40 and heard a shot a long ways off in the distance.Must have bee a mishap cause it was dark.I had my headlamp on to see.We both just lookied at eachother and said"dang some one just shot their self".

Heard the first shot at 6:30. Then it was quiet until about 6:55 and there were a couple of shots right around that time. They were a little better this year than usual.

I heard one shot around 6:30 or so. I thought there were less early shots this year too however I thought there were less shots altogether .

I heard the 1st shot at about 6am. Way too early unless he was spotlighting. then heavy shots all morning long. at least 20-30, and I got NOTHING !!

Yup i walked in around the normal time for me 6am..And here shots before 6:20 i didn't even get to my spotand the shots were really close for me being on allmost 200 acres of PRIVATE..

Haha I sat in my stand checking the time and waiting....hey a tad late this year...first shot was at 6:40 on the dot...opener was 7:06

I was in the stand at 5:40, I can't say exactly when this big girl got smoked, but it was the first shot in my area...I was back at the truck 8:15 after a difficult uphill drag:

I was in my stand at 5:50 and didn't hear any shoots from my area all day. That's real sad being I hunt in Madison county and usually after 6 it sounds like a war going on. I hope this means people have learned not to shoot at movement and not that no one was seeing any deer.

Question with regards to sunrise? Isn't it legal to hunt yotes now as well as deer? (don;t know the exact laws cause i don;t hunt for yotes). If this is the case, couldn't thouse shots be legal as you can hunt yotes at night?

the 1st shot I heard was at 6:45 . Plenty of light then . I had a nice doe and a yearling doe behind my stand at 6:55 but didn't shoot . The only deer I saw this am .

It may be coyote season, but I believe if you are hunting coyotes at night during deer season you need to use a small caliber. I think it must be smaller than a .223, but I may be mistaken. Maybe some one here will pipe in. Picking out a small caliber shot from a large would not be too difficult.

A shot on Friday at 3 would most likely be some one checking there gun. I know I was shooting mine on Friday. A single shot would not be strange if some one were already confident in there rifle and just wanted to make sure it did not get bumped around too much.

I stand corrected, you can only not use a rifle during an open season for deer if rifles are prohibited for use on deer.

Yet I bet it is the rarest of occasions that some one shooting before legal light is actually shooting a coyote.

I do not know where the caliber concept came from, maybe another state I was considering hunting or some other regulations.
