Yup, all mine fell overboard on that 2014 canoe hunting trip I took to Lake Winnepasuckme. All I have left now is a rusty old single shot Stevens with a bent barrel. It was a sad day for sure. 2
Doc
Every success that the left makes move our gun ownership rights closer to disappearing. I realize that it is almost impossible to do away with any constitutional elements, but look at the steps they have already successfully taken in terms of neutering the 2nd amendment. Be thankful that Trump got the supreme court justices that he did. And that will be good until they pack the court. I'm not sure what they need to do that. But anyway America got hurt big time this year, and gun rights likely will be the least of our worries. By the way, when are we supposed to begin wailing and weeping and burning and looting. That's what's supposed to be done by the losing side isn't it? I could use a bigger TV. 9

left field
I sit on the board for my NYC building. Out of caution we decided to lock the doors Tuesday night and bring in an extra security for the doorman. One of the other board members said "don't forget we're not that far from "Trump Country" and those people are unstable and own guns." I felt compelled to point out that there were Trump voters in our building as well as legal gun owners, but since I am upstate I'll ask around to see if anyone is planning to invade NYC. Could you guys let me know?

left field
It's actually not a shithole, but that aside, you'll like this: a relevant scene from a very good movie about two guys having dinner. Marion
It's actually not a shithole, but that aside, you'll like this: a relevant scene from a very good movie about two guys have dinner. My Dinner with Andre Excellent scene! Now I kinda want to watch the rest of the movie! And I've spent a good 6 years of my life in NYC in the Upper East in nice areas by city standards. Still a complete dumphole. That said there are still some redeeming qualities about the city. The museum of natural history is probably my favorite museum of all time. I buy a yearly membership every year! There used to be tons of great restaurants now there are less but still some great ones. Broadway shows used to be fantastic when they were allowed to operate. Visiting on occasion is fine but living in NYC is a hard pass#ThankYouForLessOverzealousModding #WeDemandUnlimitedLikes#WeDemandADislikeButton
left field
It's a great movie. Essentially, Andre Gregory and Wallace Shawn play themselves. But be warned - it is literally these guys talking over dinner, so get your head around that kind of pace. I'm a kid from a small town in Canada. The idea that I get to live in NYC is mind blowing to me. Despite all it's wackiness, I still dig it. In fact we moved to SF for a year and I went out of my mind and couldn't wait to get back. That said, we are planning to sell our apt in the spring and move onto the next phase. Short list: Delaware County, Nova Scotia, Portugal and Mexico, with Sweden and Patagonia being long shots.
eaglemountainman
Not being a smartass, but I have to ask....How the hell did Delaware County get included in that list!?
left field
Good point. We've been here for five years now after spending a prior decade or so in the Catskills, so it's an easy full-time transition. Friends and a decent enough place to live. We may try for two modest places with one being someplace warm for the winter. If I had my druthers, it would be Iceland and Argentina. Back to politics, this map has me very concerned. Bolt action
Politicians may not be able to take our guns because owning them is protected by the 2A, but what good is a gun if you can't get ammo for it?
airedale
Democratic controlled California's restrictive gun and ammo laws will be the road map, just watch and see the stuff that will tried to be made law. You get what you vote for. Al 3

Sweden is pretty awesome,my best friends parents bought a house there when i was a teenager and we spent some summers there. Loong days in the summer, short short days in the winter, but i am sure you are aware of what latitude means. This was southern Sweden... left field
Sweden is cool. The problem is that it's filled with Swedes and they can be a little stiff. I have friends who bought a "castle" in the south. Castle being the original country house in the area. Three kitchens, 11 bedrooms, couple of dining rooms, too many sitting rooms to count; on 125 acres with multiple barns, etc. They have the oldest chestnut tree in Northern Europe. They're doing the country gentlemen thing. With flair. They have been bugging us to move there but seeing their place, I wouldn't be happy with a small cottage somewhere. Good hunting though. This came off their land.
