  3. I didn't have one in my collection yet and I really like birds. It was only about a month and a half late, after an already projected year completion. But the guy did a really nice job. He didn't call me before he did it, but I would have liked an open bill instead of the closed. I have a band that needs to go on his foot. I really like him cupping, looks like he did just before...

  11. there is no stopping these guys with gas prices. Between high gas prices, high taxes, anti gun yahoos, Obama care, and all these illegals, WE ARE SCREWED!

  12. Think everyone has realized this by now, it's a scam. Gas goes up 50¢/gal and we scream & yoller. Then it goes back down 20¢/gal and we're happy again. Must be getting near the end of a financial quarter and they need to boost profits. BTW - If I recall correctly (?) gasoline in NY is taxed at ~70¢/gal. Which puts us in 1st place, yeah....NOT!!!

  13. Belo people tend to say what they mean. A letter to anyone should be as proper as possible. I see teachers at school misspell words. I don't think my doctor can spell at all but i know what he means so no big deal to me. Most people these days are going to use a program that will correct grammar and spelling before emailing a letter, unless you are like lawdaz and don't have spell check.

  14. Belo --- for at least one time , I agree with you . If you are sending out a formal letter , you should have correct spelling and good grammar . I am also aware that there are educated people that cannot spell worth a damn !

  19. Although I just started a few years ago..It is my favorite of all my hobbies... I am a history buff so finding old stuff is exciting to me... I do mostly old old cellar holes and 19th century houses... I have found old coins in parks and on beaches as well... I have found numerous items from the 1800's... my oldest find so far is a 1798 silver 2 reale coin... I also have found an 1820 large cent... a civil war union eagle breast plate and half of a powder flask... an 1830 congressional campaign button... and much more. I have tubs full of old artifacts from the 19th century...and early 20th century. Last spring and summer I did so much metal detecing that I injured a nerve in my thumb from digging... took months to heal.. So, I just dug with my left hand..lol I spend a lot of time researching old maps to find cellar holes... I am fortunate to have a close friend that has been metal detecting for over 35 years... he has a website http://www.metal-det...f-the-east.com/... he also has DVDs of his TV show on the site... we have a bunch of hunts planned for the spring and summer in some really historic areas of PA... and a copy colonial era sites as well in NY. 1st pic is the 1798 2 reale coin 2nd is a large stearling silver mexican ring 3rd is a 1913 Canadian silver quarter

  21. This is a sad statement for our country ! We have a group of children that can't read, write, spell, entertain themselves or make change from a dollar bill without a computer and we worry about CRAP like this as a viable threat...... We need to let the teachers be teachers and parents disciplin their kids as PARENTS should and these problems will end. When I grew up guns were tools around the house like my father's hammer and saw. You didn't touch them or risked the wrath. You learned how to work, and had to earn things you wanted in life. You learned that life wasn't fair, there were bullies, bad people and you were expected, NO taught, to make good decisions or there were consiquences......I hope we see those days again for our children.......there are not bad guns, there are BAD people.....a second grader playing with a pop tract hardly counts....I grew up playing "war" and mock military games in the woods with friends..when old enough we hunted, fished and traped together..we respected life, wildlife, other's lands and waters....we were afraid of doing wrong, we worked all summer at early ages to earn a gun for deer season or a bicycle we wanted. We then took great care of those items because they didn't come easily, we earned them.....

  22. I really think schools are attempting to train our future adults to be afraid of, and hate, guns. If they get enough people thinking that way, it makes it that much easier to ban guns down the road. Im not a conspiracy guy, but given these irrational decisions, made by schools, it makes me think. Last week a 6 year old little girl was suspended for having an "L" shaped piece of paper that her teacher said looked like a gun. I think it was in Philly.

  24. If the hungry is aware of what they are being fed then isn't it their choice? The government has a "you don't know what's good for you...we know what's good for you so we're going to tell you how to live your life" agenda going. Sounds like tyranny if you ask me.

  30. On an all-day sit...I usually bring two small sandwiches...one for midmorning around 10 and another 12-1 p.m. Once I get to 1 p.m. I'm usually good to go food-wise. I do, however, bring something to drink on any sits longer than 4 hours. Usually it's a small bottle of soda or a Powerade and a few ibuprofen. I find that I can get dehydration headaches sometimes when hunting because I don't pay attention to it. Small snacks, I love granola bars or a mix. They fill you up fast, and are relatively quiet to eat. I also bring something sugary for a quick carb burst if I don't bring a soda.

  32. Hunting a side of state land 7M I found a grave site for a WWI corporal. It was sort of fencd off with long branches and cleared a bit. Part of the fence was busted so I fixed it up best I could and cut down some weeds around the stone.
