No real plans yet, but I'll take pictures if I come up with something. Hmmmm...., maybe I'm planning to take pictures of whatever I don't know I have planned to take pictures of. Sounds like a plan to me! Will post pics as soon as I'm done doing whatever I'm planning on doing to show you all what I decided to do if I do anything at all.4 points

Stoke the wood stove Shoot some arrows downstairs, if shoulder will allow me to. Stoke the wood stove. Go for a snow shoe walk in the woods out back. Stoke the wood stove. Go down and watch some of the races on the lake. Stoke the wood stove. Put in more wood.3 points

Gonna clear the driveway, hit the store for a survival pack, get a fire going in the fireplace and then camp out on the sofa and smell the stew simmer all day in the crock pot.3 points

I haven't seen it yet. I wanted an idea of value before I saw it. It won't happen though. The guy isn't moving from $500 and I'm not overpaying. For $500 I can get a quality, used production rifle that hasn't been tweaked by a random guy with a hacksaw and a dremel.2 points

I thought I'd pass this on..... "Why Grandpa carries a gun" The Quintessential reason - Why Grandpa carries a gun: Why Carry a Gun? My old grandpa said to me 'Son, there comes a time in every man's life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to take an ass whoopin.' I don't carry a gun to kill people. I carry a gun to keep from being killed. I don't carry a gun to scare people. I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place. I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid. I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world. I don't carry a gun because I'm evil. I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world. I don't carry a gun because I hate the government. I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government. I don't carry a gun because I'm angry. I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared. I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone. I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon. I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy. I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want to be a cowboy. I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man. I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love. I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate. I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate. I don't carry a gun because I love it. I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me. Police protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves. Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.2 points

Start plowing out the woods trails to the sap tank and releaser buildings. Got my work cut out for me and the loader with snow as deep as my shoulders are high in the woods. Gonna be a long day but its got to get done for the warmup coming. Hopefully I will get tanks set in vac pumps and releasers setup. Not hopeful though theres just so much snow pack to get through.2 points

Buy at least a 25 or 30 gallon tank. Believe it or not they are easier to take care of then the smaller 10gal tanks. Start with tropical freshwater fish. A great mix would include swordtails, black molly's, a school of neon tetras, 1-2 angel fish, and 1-2 bottom feeders like algae eaters or catfish. This used to be a hobby of mine and I enjoyed it greatly2 points

Truthfully the people asking don’t really want to know why; they are looking to get into a rhetoric fight. They don’t really care what you have to say, and already have a few sound bites chambered and ready to go as soon as you stop talking. These folks don’t really have an open mind, and nothing you say is going to change their mind. http://www.guns.com/2015/02/14/opinion-why-anti-gun-activists-love-to-ask-why/1 point

I was at a podiatrist's office. He had a new chair resembling a dentist's chair..He told me to turn over on my stomach ( so he could work on the bottom of my foot). He pressed a button and my BUTT rose up in the air... I said to him " I'll bet they sell a lot of these chairs to proctologists"... He said.........." You bet your ass".....True story....1 point

1 or 2 in a day isn't too bad in my book. I have spread shot all over the woods only to come home with nothing, or gone grouse hunting and come home with rabbits….. They can get under your skin.1 point

Believe that and either your experience or your ability to make rational fact based decisions is very limited or both. Drawing in the presence of deer and knowing when not to shoot is not an issue for a experienced bowhunter with even a lick of common sense. But sounds like a problem for you. If no deer should be wounded with a crossbow, why are deer lost ever year in gun? Maybe because hunters are willing to take hail mary shots never attempted before with equipment they are not familiar with at an unknown distance hoping that divine intervention kills the animal Sound familiar?1 point

Grouse without a doubt... They are at top speed and dodging cover right from the takeoff..They also are quick to put some cover between you and themselves. Woodcock are slow and easy...The only thing that makes them tough is the fact that they generally flush in very close cover, so you need quick reflexes and an open choke. In anyplace resembling open cover, they are a piece of cake. Pheasants fly direct but FAST.... Much faster than grouse when they get up to speed... It is easy to underlead them and shoot holes in thier tailfeathers...However thier direct flight makes them easier to hit than grouse, despite the fact that they can fly about 20MPH faster than grouse, at top speed.1 point

Our store does offer free training on how to safely use a crossbow. We have a 20yd. range where anyone can test them prior to their purchase. As this is not a forum to enhance our sales, I will not reveal my employer..1 point

So not used to be the good guy on here. Lol. The DEC will not be the savior on mature bucks. It will be the individuals that have a balanced herd based on what their ground/area warrants. Then trigger management will do more than points or number of deer killed. Those who truly get it on mature bucks already know the length and timing of gun season has more to do with what you see than don't.1 point

Sounds like some good plans for the day. I just got up and I'm going back to bed. Kidding Been reading the newspaper and tapping keys here and there.......Text back and forth with our daughter, she just landed in Rome Italy around 8am our time. She is gone for almost three weeks with some school mates; a few days in Rome, a longer stay in Northern Italy with the girl that stayed with us in September then they hit Paris for a couple/few days before flying back. Woot!!!! There goes my retirement. Well, time for my weekly shower/shave. I'll take the dog for a short walk as it is way to cold for a couch potato pooch.................1 point

I went out yesterday with bow and shoes, Hawkeye had their annual members only snowshoe shoot followed by game dinner. The shoot was fun, lots of the deep stuff, and the food awesome. Today it's going to be load the stove, go out for some more wood, and then I'm going to the Sabres game tonight. I hope I can park close so we don't have to walk far in these temps! I will probably spend most of the day today reading a turkey magazine in front of the wood stove. and dream of the spring woods, birds chirping, flowers growing and that intoxicating sound of an adult gobbler. The first day of spring is only 34 days away!!1 point

Sorry, I forgot to post the instructions on how to get the joke.1) Read the forum for at least one day. 2) Have a brain. 3) Think about it for more than 3 seconds. 4) Enjoy the free comedy. You're missing some punctuation after "inside" there buddy. Just saying.1 point

I do not believe you have to have an archery tag to hunt with cross bow....it is a weapon that you use in gun seasons and only the last 2 weeks of bow with a valid muzzleloading tag( I had to buy my muzzle loading tag to hunt with mine last year)...it ONLY requires a "on line" course which is a joke at best.1 point

Walk across the street ( accompanied by The Mermaid) to the Acorn Mart for coffee and to read the Sunday Paper ( Fat Paper Day). We sit in a booth with a few other retired old farts. Come home and whip up a quick breakfast... We split an omelet this morning, so tomorrow will probably be Eggos plus bacon or link sausage.. Clear the walks and the driveway of that white stuff that fell this afternoon.. Around noon I'll gather up my buddy Howie and head over to the Legion for Sunday School, which will include a couple of beers and opening a few bell jar tickets.. After that I'll come home and whip up something for supper.. I have some leftover turkey, so tettrazinni is a definite maybe.. Pretty exciting stuff, EH ..?..1 point

Hmmmm... this video has been used for all sorts of subjects. Still funny, but when it refers to select people on this board, it stops. Not everyone knows those mentioned and it makes the video an "inside' joke. Also, the correct usage is "wear" not "where".....just sayin to check spelling in the sub-titles.1 point

No one is going to come to my house and take my wood stove. That's not part of the deal. But when my wood stove needs to be replaced for whatever reason, sometime in the future, I won't have the option to buy a relatively inexpensive stove that will meet my needs. I will be forced to buy a relatively expensive stove that may or may not meet my needs, or simply give in to the way other people heat their homes. I would just like to have the option to purchase the wood stove that is best for me when that time comes. The EPA is trying to take that option away from me because there are several groups of people who would prefer that no one have a wood stove at all.1 point
