  2. Looks like the Coumo Youth league is in full swing. Like it's predecessor the Hitler youth league kids are making sure they are watching everything. Gun owners beware...many a family member went on train rides in those times. Now that may seem like a strong statement but on channel 4 buffalo news tonight a student "spotted"several bullet shells on the dash board of a car in the parking lot..this resulted in a lock down rounding students up in the cafeteria...many many manned patrol cars...cell alerts sent out to parents. Where did common sense go...you know locating the driver and inquiring about the viewed ammo..not talking a gun..just ammo in open view.police couldn't comment on the "on going investigation"...I Bet...some poor schmuck that was hunting or at the range and for got they placed the bullets on the dash when unloading or emptying his pockets...they'll have to " charge" him with something...just to try and recoup the wasted resources.

  4. There is a movement to instill an irrational fear of guns in kids. By the time these kids are in their late teens, the antis have them. Thats the plan. Hopefully there are enough honest, responsible adults out there who will be able to set kids straight.

  8. 14% more bears in the NZ!? Wow... Deer numbers down in the SZ, as many figured. I thought this was an interesting qualifying statement: "preliminarily it looks like deer hunters in western New York generally saw less harvest decline than in portions of central and southeastern New York." Seems to be in line with observations on the forum - I haven't read everything...

  9. I don't watch over you. I find your posts to be mostly incoherent gibberish. And, judging by the fact that you can't defend anything that you post, perhaps even you do too. But, please keep implying that not agreeing with your half-thoughts makes me slow if it makes you feel smart.

  11. Currently there is a box of .22s and a box of .17 Mach IIs in the open cubby hole of my truck's dash. During deer season there usually is a loaded DBM and maybe an M1 clip in my console.

  12. I said he is trying. Never said he has, it is just a matter of time that only military and government officials will be the only one with guns. Well that is if Obama gets his way.

  15. A cheap bow will shoot a quality arrow well, but a expensive bow will not shoot a poor quality arrow well. Over the course of 5 years my wife & I made & sold over 1500 DOZEN high quality wood arrows. We did traditional only shoots from Ocala.FL in February, to Buffalo, NY in August as well as many points between & most of the Midwest. We have seen a lot of traditional archers & traditional bows. The thing that I don't get is this obsession with "take down" recurve bows when less than 1% are ever "taken down". A moderately priced, good quality 1 piece recurve will be lighter & in most cases smoother than a "take down". The whole idea of traditional archery is to keep it simple.

  17. I didn't see many saying NOT to use it. Like a bow or any weapon. There are limitations. If you accept them, understand them and select a suitable bullet then have at it.

Along with that roasted baby golds, jalapeno stuffed mushrooms ( used my homemade canned jalapeno's ), sauteed garlic and shallots to top the steak, and garlic steamed asparagus ( yes, we love our garlic in this house ). Might wash it down with a Grolsch.

  27. The reason why I wouldn't leave ammo on my dashboard is cause I don't want some little P.O.S. to see it and think where there's ammo , there might be a weapon. The next thing you know , you come back to your vehicle and find someone smashed a window and broke in.

  28. Take a look at homedepot for one of those plastic sheds, mice/animals don't generally eat through those and will last your lifetime. Not to mention they are cheap and easy to assemble. You can take it apart and move it from your house to your property without much hassle.

  34. A very nice buck (looked like an 8pt) walked across the back field of my office on Transit Rd (Clarence side) in northern Erie County. It's just a great thing to see a buck this time of year, really a wonderful sight IMO. He stopped once and glanced the 120 yards towards the office, just standing there; knowing we were all good. I'd dare he say he winked at me.

  36. Limbs are built for them by Dryad - a great traditional and innovative bow builder. They - Elite - are doing the riser. Nothing special. At $1299 MSR for the package, they are way on the hi side for what it is.

  41. When it's cold and sunny, I'll see more than when it's cold and cloudy. Also when it's real cold, they seem to spend a shorter amount of time out of the nest. Haven't seen one yet, just come in and jump in the stew pot! Bundle up and go get em! Even a short hunt is better than no hunt, if you have the time. Good luck!

  42. It is so interesting when someone posts issues of "outdoor magazines" from the '70s. One of the top concerns of "sportsmen" in that day was the environment. Theodore Roosevelt was the original high profile "conservationist" BECAUSE he was a hunter & realized that "conservation" was critical to the future of hunting and fishing. Hunters & fishermen should be working WITH environmentalists instead of fighting them. We should work together to combat the corporations that exploit our resources with little or noi concern about whatb they leave behind. Divide & concur. It's working!

  45. As far as I know the portion of the Safe Act that says no online sales still stands. There has been no formal repeal but since their are many aspects that the state isn't prepared to enforce or handle there was a "wink wink, nod nod, we a holding off on that part". I am sure there are sellers that would just a soon not get involved if the area is gray.
