I am proud to say that I became the proud grandfather of two beautiful twin girls on Dec. 18, 2016... they were born 2 months early and they will have to spend some time in the hospital until they put on some weight, but they are doing well... and so another chapter in life begins.13 points

This handsome guy is my neighbors dog. He's the very definition of a rescue, a DEC officer found him abandoned in the woods on Long Island. The vet thinks he was out there at least three weeks, he was all bones and his ears were frostbit. He lived with some officers for a couple weeks and they named him Bill but they couldn't keep him so I drove down and got him for my neighbor. He's an awesome dog. They asked the vet why he was so docile at first and the vet said "because he's grateful". Anyway I'm watching him this weekend so I posted him up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

There was one buck that I was hoping to see when I put my cams back out the last day of muzzleloader season. I was pretty surprised to see "Hooks" had shown up several times in the past week!!! I would love to snag his sheds. Hopefully, he is more visible this summer. Not the greatest genetics but a pretty cool buck!4 points

To me, one of the best parts of running trailcams is the opportunity to follow individual bucks over multiple years.. You never know which deer will be the one you end up developing a history with (hardly ever the ones that you want to see grow up). I first noted this buck back in the summer of 2014 as a 2 year old 6-point. Digging through pics from a few months prior, I realized that he had showed up on the farm in January as a broken racked yearling . It was apparent that he wasn't ever going to be a high scorer but had some really cool character to his rack. I was happy to see him show backup on cam during post season scouting. Unfortunately, he was already shed out and appeared to have been wounded during season. With the all the deep snow/frigid weather we had through Feb and March, I was certain he wouldn't make the winter. He proved me wrong and I was shocked to see him in a bachelor group in late June! It took another month before he showed up on one of my cams. You could see the scar above his shoulders from his close call the previous fall. I got some good pics of him on scrapes during bow season and then he disappeared, but once again showed up in late December but only one time. I did have several sightings of him in a neighboring beanfield carrying his antlers into late February and was excited to see what he would over the summer. The drought that we experienced in the Finger Lakes Region really affected the deer's patterns and he never showed up on any of my cams over the summer and left me wondering what he turned in to...3 points

I remember when I first started my sister and I walked in at stewart to meet my dad there was a group of hunters including my dad and when we said morning .The others were like girls. They wanted to know where we would be hunting so they would be farther away from us . My father was so proud of us . He said they are my girls and they most likely shoot better then you and will sit longer and respect people better then you. Hi girls .3 points

I am a lone hunter...I liked camp for a day or two but before we had these home lands I staggered my hunting to go with when camp was empty. Being the only bow hunter, before teaching the kids I had the place to myself...and the same with Turkey...I hunt a bit harder than the guys, always have...I don't use the 4wheelers unless dragging is needed,go in and leave usually after dark . Use scent control, calls, scout, and plan. Also stand sets, I have many many many more sets than they would ever have and ground blinds. The woman I've met seem to enjoy being lone hunters as well....not as crazed as me,but independent.3 points

I find it laughable the leftist anarchists suddenly have no problem with the so called "separation of church and state" when churches want to help criminals evade prosecution. The hypocrisy is predictable.2 points

Considering the fact Uptown's past predictions were all wrong, I think it's safe to say the future will be the exact opposite of all of his negative predictions. He has not been correct once so far. Why expect anything to change?2 points

Here's the gateway drug goose from last year. The guides had me pose with my duck stamp, they got a huge kick that I was using my own stamp on my first waterfowl hunt. Only the top goose is mine; the others are from the good shooting from the rest of the group. Foolishly I didn't think to test the nontoxic shells I was using that day in my shotgun, and my gun didn't like to eject them properly and jammed after the first shot. I will still tickled as could be to have been there honestly so I wasn't even mad! CRCS is who sponsored my hunt and I am very thankful. This was in Allegany.2 points

For the past 19-20 years I've hunted a private farm in Coshocton county, just east of Danville off of 36. It was awesome, during gun week, it would be none stop shooting all day long, I saw groups of deer all day long, this year it went a couple of hours without hearing a shot. I shot a few bucks over the years, nothing real big, saw a few, saw others with big ones. All of the other guys in the group hunted with cross bows. Nothing really got shot during bow season, its kinda of far away for us to really scout it out. With in the last 10 years the AMISH have moved into the area, thats when we all noticed a change. Go on the Ohio forums, nobody is saying how great it is, nobody says anything about the AMISH, I don't get it. Granted, you don't see that many deer hit on the roads anymore. All I can say is, don't go filling everyones freezer, don't believe everything they do on the out door channel, QUIT SHOOTING ALL THE DOE. You won't have any deer left. I can't believe there are 2 guy's from Vermont that lease that farm I hunt for $5000.00 a week for the first 2 weeks of November, that won't last much longer, Ohio's shot out compared to what it was. Its not the cross bow, I don't shoot one, maybe some day I'll have to. It's not the poaching, that will happen regardless you can't control that. Just don't over harvest. Good luck and let me know where the fight is going to take place.1 point

That taxidermist is still around but he's a salaried employee for Corning Inc. now..He still does occasional mounts for special friends.. I had a couple mounts done by him ( in my former life) and his work was superb.. I think I may know who your uncle was << wink, wink>>....1 point

That Shiner iPA is awful. It taste s like soap. I thought it was my glass so I had my two buddies try it. Soap, I'm not kidding. Awful. The rest of the mixed pack was good and again that PA Tuxedo was Fantastic. My favorite of the night. Did a shot of Jameson at midnight to end the festivities. Happy New Year all. Off to bed.1 point

At first I though he/she was not the sharpest pencil in the box, and got his/her hunting lesson backwards. Soar high, stare down, locate object of prey, then swoop in for the kill......uh....no....I'll stand on ground, stare up, locate object of prey.....and swoop up? Or, perhaps a form of hunting bird of prey dyslexia. Then it dawned on me, He/she was not a predator as much as a prankster. I remember doing this same move as a kid in the schoolyard. Nope....not falling for it! Hahahaha1 point

That's why Trump scares the hell outta' all of them. He's only loosely party-affiliated and he's not party-dependent. He's standing in opposition to the D.C. Uniparty establishment (Dems and Reps alike) and his intention is to put the screws to all of them for their behavior over the past several decades. The voters recognized that position and soundly endorsed it in the election. The old thinking of Democrat vs Republican is no longer valid, hence the taglines of "America First" and "MAGA".1 point

What a great attitude! Politics first - country be damned. It is looking like you and Obama have the same anti-American views. Now we have a pretty good idea of what you both are. So much for your credibility.1 point

It's important to understand Obama's basic philosophy. He's a Communist in every way. And under a global Communism no one country can possibly be any better than anyone else. His eight year reign as president has been directed toward stifling the U.S. economy in an effort to make it more similar to the economy of, say, Ghana. He's been rather successful. No one country can be allowed to think for itself and to institute laws that don't work within the collective. Obama's been pretty successful in this as well. Think 'Bathroom Bill' and 'Socialized medicine'. No one country within the collective can be allowed to support another country who's working against the collective. Think Anti-Brexit and the recent UN referendum against Israel. Obama may call it a success, but I consider it one more reason to kick his ass into oblivion. No one in this country's history has done more to destroy 'race relations' than Obama. That's been the flame that keeps his pot simmering. An angry mob is a controllable mob in his world. He's done well with that. We'll put Obama on the curb in about three weeks, but he won't be gone for a long, long time. He's going to be stinking up the neighborhood for a few generations. It's his job.1 point

I usually carry my Dad's 50 year old Randall knife that he used on many of his hunts that he went on. He used it when he was up in the Yukon when he shot a large Grizzly, a 62" Moose, and a full curl Dahl sheep. Dad has passed on physically, but he is with me in spirit when I go out in the woods. The picture of the knife also has another toy in it a new Kel-Tec (haven't shot it yet).1 point
