I expect to get Turkeyfeathers set in good spot for a shot during archery and then him and his daughter for gun as they have doe tags. I also hope the oldest member of camp gets a good opportunity at a shooter. Expect my.2 nephews to get a good opportunity to fill a tag during youth hunt.. as for myself I'll enjoy the company and stories.. hope someone gets a crack at a bear or two .. if we do then it will be 4 bear in 7 years off property.. that's kind of exciting if it happens.7 points

Been looking for one of these Vintage Honda Scramblers for several years, finally found this 1974 CL 200 Dual Sport in Syracuse for a great price in nice condition with only 1800 miles. I have a lot of good back road riding up this way and this little Honda will be a great way to travel them. Al4 points

I recently found out that two neighbor's kids 14 and 18 want to hunt this coming season and their Dads don't hunt so their looking for someone to hunt with and show them the ropes . Well I have to tell ya the first thought that came to mind was " no need to drag Deer this season " ! The 14 year old I will take during Bow/Crossbow and allow him to drag his or my Deer (I have no shame) and the 18 year old during gun season and do the same . I'm just trying to be a Team Player .... LOL !4 points

The wife and I are in Wellsboro Pennsylvania for a couple nights, celebrating our anniversary. Tonight we went to "The Steak House" on some strong recommendations from a couple friends down here. I've been coming to this area for almost 35 years and never ate there. I had a 16oz prime rib (end cut, of course) and my wife had a pork chop with some sexy sauce on it........both were outstanding! Three sides from a long list of choices gave us salad, baked potato and green beans. Even those were great. What a great meal............ https://www.thesteakhouse.com/index.html4 points

Treeguy helped me get it dialed in. Started at 20 yards , then 50 then to 100. Love the trigger. Broke it in using Savages suggested shoot , hoppes , dry patch , brush etc etc. Decent bark but less bite than I anticipated. Daughter will have no troubles shooting it. Don’t have but 15 rounds thru it so still honeymoon phase. Last few shots are the best. Can’t wait til more range time and get her out in the woods this year. Thanks Andrew4 points

Reminds me of a joke... A woman has a pet Schnauser and is tired of trimming him, so she decides to try some NAIR hair remover on the little pup.. Shes rides her motorbike to a drugstore, goes in and takes a bottle of NAIR to the counter The druggist tells her..." That stuff is very caustic....I'd advise using it half strength on your legs and quarter strength on your underarms".. The woman says " You don't understand...This stuff is for my SCHNAUSER"... The druggist replied, " LADY, if you put that stuff on your SCHNAUSER, you won't be able to ride that Honda for w WEEK !! "....3 points

To be honest I do not remember seeing many hunting movies that I cared for if I had to pick one it would be the Ghost And The Darkness. The best hunting stuff I have ever seen on film was the old American Sportsman TV show.3 points

The one filmed in Africa titled, "In the blood". Hard to find anymore. It was hard to find the DVD when I got it a few years ago. Hollywood did it's best to keep it out of the public's eye due to their hatred of hunting. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099838/mediaviewer/rm1128929283 points

Three deer of any combination - hopefully a doe from the “forest rehabilitation program.” I would love to stick a coyote with the bow it would be a yote of opportunity while deer hunting.i would love to see my hunting partners father knock one down- he hasn’t killed a deer in over 20 years. I need to not wound any deer this season. That is my biggest goal. Last year wounded more than in my 7 years of hunting before that. It was a sobering experience. Got a new used bow and it is tuned well. I am with robhuntandfish,an early doe would be nice and then a decent buck.3 points

I'd like to kill two 1.5 year old deer for the freezer... Other than that, my goal is to have a safe and enjoyable season, and hopefully spend some enjoyable days on the property with my friends and perhaps see them kill a deer or two also... Another bonus would be to see someone shoot one of the PITA bears running around up there....3 points

My biggest expectation this year, is to be with my grandson when he kills his first deer! This is his year! Second, is to be hunting with Moog when he kills a giant at the end of October. Lastly, I may go all or nothing, on a buck I've got a three year history with. He'll be five years old this season. And yes, he's still around. Last two years I've been within 30 yards of him, late season. But no buck tag. I really don't need to kill anything, to have a great season.3 points

Get him a grown up gun..He'll soon out grow the youth modell As for chamberings, the .243 is very capable in the hands of a good rifleman, BUT both the 6.5 Creed and the 7MM-08 offer better terminal ballistics, if only in the greater likelihood of a pass through, leaving a better blood trail if tracking is required...Neither chambering kicks enough more than a .243 for recoil to be a factor, and should a few years from now he decides to do some long range (300 yards +) shooting both have advantage over the .243 at longer ranges... There is a wide selection of factory loads for all 3 chamberings, so if you do not reload, you should be able to find a load that shoots well in your son's rifle.2 points

Assume you hunt rifle area. 7mm08 is what my daughter will shoot on the property where rifle is permitted.2 points

The scenery in this clip surely doesn't look like any I've ever seen in Pennsylvania. The lack of attention to what the deer and terrain look like in the state the events were supposed to happen is quite striking for a movie that got such high acclaim.2 points

Got out to shoot the crossbow today. Glad I did it was off for sure. Was shooting low and left. Dead on now after some tweaking. Last time I used it was when I shot my best buck ever and then dragged it out in the dark and snow for a mile. Certainly could have bumped it. But good to go now. Shots at 30 and 402 points

Jaws is top 5 movie of all time in my book due to the cinematography and music and acting and one liners...and certainly fits the “hunting category” J.J. is a solid choice as is the Reverent Red Dawn has that amazing hunt scene (follow up of shot really)and probably one of my first childhood memories of hunting(I didn’t start hunting until my twenties) But y’all missed the slam dunk.... Abraham Lincoln: Vampire hunter. It has everything- history, vampires, factual accuracy and badass weapons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I love these stories! A lot to be said about getting a ..budget rifle in a good caliber, upgrading the optics, trigger and finding the perfect ammo! The dead deer will never know if it was shot with a $300, $700 or $1500 rifle.2 points

I love the old vintage bikes especially the scramblers. I am kind of surprised they are not more popular, they are great for an easy ride down unpaved gravel roads. About the only thing new on the market these days that holds my interest is the Triumph Street Scrambler. I came within an eyelash of buying one but decided that it was just a bit too big and heavy for what kind of riding I planned on. This CL 200 is my fifth Honda and the smallest, Got started in motorcycles back in 1970 and purchased the then new Honda CB 750 four that I wish I had today. I have a 1973 street CB 450 that I am getting road worthy, it is pretty much the same bike as your old CL 450 with low exhaust, and also a 87 CMX 450 Rebel that is decent and runs good. Then there was big Bertha, a 2003 Valkyrie with a 1800 cc 6 cylinder engine. The only non Hondas I owned and still ride once in awhile is a vintage 1974 BMW R90 along with a 1978 Harley Electra Glide that I sent packing. The nice thing about these old vintage bikes is they can be bought very reasonable and are simple enough to work on yourself. A ride on a warm day is refreshing and like going swimming.2 points
