  1. I was thinking about the same issue myself back when I sold my ATV, and decided to go with a deer sled instead. It's a piece of plastic that comes rolled up. Easy to store, very light weight. Check them out on the web!!!
  2. Membership costs are minimal, and after getting a discount on items you buy, you will get your money back on savingsin short time. I also shop at Cabela's as well, along with Gander Mountain, etc. They do beat out others on price on some items. Go for it!!!
  3. Ditto what he said!!! Also, you have a gold mine there with white oak trees!!! Keep a look out for a nice spot to hang a stand!!!
  4. Danno, try a jar of these dill pickles. My favorite so far!!
  5. Sept. 1st is the start of squirrel season, so others will be in the woods even if your trying not to be. Unless your land is posted solid?
  6. Little early for me...will try to get a couple up early in September.
  7. My folks are the same age as well, just celebrated their 67th anniversary on July 2nd this month. Their place looks awesome!!!
  8. We were just up to lake Placid for 2 nights, Monday - Wednesday. Also, we went to White face mountain as well on that trip. BUT, the elevator to get to the top is broke. If you want to get to the top, you'll have to walk up the 1/10 mile path they have made. Quite the climb up, but pretty dangerous on the way back down due to the slippery rock surfaces used as steps. We were told that come next spring, they will be installing a new elevator to replace the current one that is broke down now. Better hang onto those rails on your way up and back down!!!
  9. The police had this guy under their radar, yet he was still able to pull this off?
  10. Many years ago during the bow season at our camp, my cousin jumped onto his TV and was heading to the back section of our property. I was only minutes behind and was walking to a spot much closer to camp. As I walked up the hill, on the very trail my cousin just went up on with his ATV, made a turn into the pines heading for one of our ladder stands. Only a short distance in, I spotted a buck rubbing his rack on a sapling. This was just a short time after my cousin went by on his machine!!! Guess ATV's are something that they are use to seeing and hearing in the woods, like a famers tractor out in a field. My favorite 3 times to do scouting are about a month after the regular season closes, the spring, and to double check everything come September.
  11. Think it all depends on the hunter, and what he feels is easier to carry around quietly. I picked up one of those folding chairs from Gander Mtn. that comes with a back strap and a back support, as well as a storage bag for my items that I need to carry. Like to still hunt around until I come to a promising spot then I sit for a spell before moving on.
  12. Just got #20.....more still running around?

    Another H-Birthday coming your way!!
  14. Old age is getting to us all, at least you found it!!!
  15. Nice job......like the clean look. Just a tip, instead of using regular screws for the hinges, use bolts, nuts and lock washers. Get a "hack proof" lock as well!! Will keep the honest people honest!!
  16. Should of gotten a lifetime license a long time ago. At almost 62, not worth the price now.
  17. My tomatoes and green peppers are doing fine!! Sure got a lot bigger in a hurry!!!
  18. You can also use the water from your dehumidifier as well.
  19. LOL... yep, I have to pick one up soon!!
