  1. Have heard that prairie dog trips are a hell of a lot of fun and not expensive. Would think there should be some out that way.
  2. Fishing of course! But hunting prep is almost year round. And I also fish a lot from spring to late summer. Cooking is also up there. Like to try new things/recipes etc. Jan - March , not much other than work and snow removal. And make homemade soup every other weekend.
  3. Yeah I got it. Was joking. If you haven't heard Trump likes to tweet. Lol And exactly used with only presidents approval...... Am guessing there already pre loaded phrases like " witch hunt" " the best ever, you've never seen anything like it" etc.....lol I actually think it is a fine idea. Can't ever be too prepared.
  4. Have taken them from 5 yards to 35 yards. My longest was last year at 35 yards, heart punched a doe. I took a 40 once and got string jumped. I always aim heart now just in case for anything over 30. But most of my bow kills have been 25-27 yards. And that's for a reason though. I try to setup my stands where it's most likely for a deer to come up a trail and be about 25 yards away. That way I'm not too close to the trail and yet am well within bow range. Of course they don't always cooperate, but I like to be setup so that most of the time this works out. And only shoot what ypur comfortable at for distance. Enjoy the up close action. It's so great. Gets the adrenaline going for sure!
  5. . I'm guessing this is actually another way for Trump to send out tweets he thinks are important!
  6. That one looks like a good un. He's got some weight to him. I can recognize another fat guy when I see one! Good luck.
  7. Nice buck. Looks like some stickers up front to make it interesting. Good luck.
  8. Welcome in! Just in time for the hunting season. Good luck.
  9. My buddy Corey just got permission across the Rd from his house and put this hang on stand up today. Looks pretty good. He's got access to about 86 acres and is excited for sure.
  10. A big cool down would be great. I like walleye fishing but not on opening day of bow. Cause if it's 80 def not hunting.
  11. Our production at work went up 50 percent across NY, but can't have them thinking that's gonna be the norm! Glad it's back up and running. But I will prepare a bug out bag for next time. Beer, hotdogs, PA chest girth chart, a Bigfoot call, DEC rules and regs book and some 3x5 cards so we can pass notes to each other.
  12. Seasoning new smoker I just put together. Meat in it tomorrow for test run.
  13. I bet you will be a great instructor for sure. No doubt. You have a way with words and people for sure.
  14. One from 20! Then 2 from 40. Think I have to move that site one hair.....just one. Got to be picky!
  15. Planning on making this myself this fall if enough venison as you have said it's really good. Thanks for the idea G man. Looked up a few ways to make it and have a plan.
  16. have heard a lot of good things about evercalm - gonna try it i had a buck once come right up a trail where i sprayed a little trail when i came in that morn and his nose was right to the ground for it - kinda neat.
  17. I can't even get one pic of a bear and your getting color phases. Awesome. One day I hope to have one on trail cam just to know there might be one around.
  18. The hardest thing for me when I started bow hunting was not to rush the shot. I always tell myself " easy" now before I Shoot. Get that pin and yourself settled before you let it fly. I've always been a quick shot with the gun too, but never had much problem with that. Bow I just couldn't stop the quick shot for a while and it def affected my accuracy when it counted. I wouldn't ever make a good tv host for a hunting show cause the camera guy would only be getting the on the ground pics. Lol
  19. Got a buddy that hunts them with the bow. Good practice for sure.
  20. I'd wait , you have some nice pics already of deer and what area. If your going in there 10/1 I would just get them then.
  21. might want to be careful..... ive been known to knock people down for a donut myself! also helpful if you get caught speeding too!
  22. the old saying " i just have to be faster than you" but I'm always the slow guy...... So theres no running away, cause no sense in getting winded before the fight starts. I got a better chance if i just stay there and wait for it! lol but you got this critter! a suplex and an elbow off the top rope and he is toast!
