How far is your typical bow shot?

How far is your typical bow shot?  Mine tend to be 15-25 yards, I have do not think I have ever shot beyond 25 yards.

  For me i have taken a shot at 5 yards all the way out to 40 yards.  But i would say the average is like you said 15- 25. I purchased a Trophy Ridge, Alpha v5 this year. and with my Alpha Max, 5 pins puts me at 70 yards. Not that i would ever even think about shooting that far at a deer. But it sure is fun to shoot targets that far out.

All my shots have been under 20 yards with a couple that have been right under my tree.

Intentionally setup my treestands in areas or near trails giving me the 20-25 yd shots.

Have one stand in the open woods, mainly for gun.

I practice some at 40 yds for what I call a desperation shot.

Love to shoot out at that distance - it makes you better up close.  I've never shot a deer over 20 yards though.

i practice out to 40 yards but have never taken one longer than 30 at a deer. Most deer I've taken are 25 or less

  I keep all my shots under 20 yards with no sights on the bow it makes it hard to shoot out farther.  I practice out about 20 to 30 yards but when you bring it in close you have much tighter groups.

Probably 20 yards . My closest was 7 yards and my farthest was 35 . I would say most of my bow kills have been around 20 yards .

Probably about 10-20 yards.  I have a pin set up for 40 yards, but wouldn't feel too confident taking that shot.

Every stand I build is a maximum of 20 yards from the trail that I am watching. Of course, deer don't always stay on trails and bucks are notorious for walking crosswise to trails when they are doing their scent-checking thing for does. So, I am still forced to make a judgement call on how far I will shoot. I have a 30 yard pin on my bow, and that is as far as I feel 100% competent and as sure as anyone actually can be that things will go well on the deer's end of the shot.
