Opening Day for Gun Season

This may be a bit premature considering bow hunting topics have  taken up much of the posts lately, but are we gun hunters ready?

Got the shotgun ready for opening day and the Muzzle Loader ready for the rest of the season .

Ill be ready, gotta take the handgun to the range one more time and pick up an extra box or two of rounds.

The gun is cleaned but I have to take it to the range yet and make sure nothing moved since last year. I am more ready to get a vacation from work though.

Gotta due a little trail  maintenance.. so I can get my ATV to the stand( I use it for game retreival only)..

Gotta stop by my buddies range and fire a ONE SHOT group with the mountain rifle to make sure nothing has changed since last year..

I also have to re-zero my muzzleloader for NoExcuses conicals..Last Year I ran out of them and had to reisight it for round balls...Got a new supply of NoExcuses.. Plenty of time for that, though..I only use it during the special late season after rifle season..

Also had my old Omega come back to visit for the season - want to work up a BH209 load for old times sake.

I will be ready! If the rest of this season goes the same as the beginning, I will be ready for revenge. Those deer that have been laughing at me and staying just out of range might be a bit sorry that they have been messing with me.

My .243 is also ready to go - just wondering what you rifle's twist rate is and ammo/round you use? I like the 100 gr GameKing or 95 gr Nosler partition.

Shot my rifle and ML a couple times already, will shoot the rifle again a couple days before the opener. I'm ready.

The rifle and ml are ready to go. Shot during the summer some. Get to the range and make all is well.

I have three rifles ready to go.I always have them ready by the end of September.My ML is also ready.Just waiting for the calender now.

I have noticed that some of you guys hunt with your shotgun or rifle first day then switch to smokepole. Just your preference I guess. I new one guy that went back to the bow after 1st day.

I well stay with a gun until the season closes.Then I well go out with the ML.

I still gotta buy a scope for my Mossberg 500, mount it and sight it in. The scope is gunna be a Vortex Crossfire, not sure whether to get 1.5-4x32 or 2-7x32.

Hey last year saw 2 doe opening day let them walk and never saw a deer for the rest of the season.It happens.
