the thing is with their beliefs, they are not lying.  They are setting the kids up top rat you out.  My above post was very serious.  They plant the seed guns are bad.  Then ask the kids if there are guns in their homes kids say yes then do you feel safe after being told guns are bad.  Kids will say no i do not feel safe.  That day cops and child protective show up.  You give up the guns or the kids.  My only question would be how long did it take you to call the school and complain?  When is the next BOE meeting and will you be there.  Get your friends together and get there to voice your dissatisfaction.

Don't get me started..I was married to a teacher for 35 years and had the unfortunate experience of getting to know some of her liberal academic type friends...

I don't want to categorize people, but many of them seemed to feel they were much superior to us commoners...

The sad part is, while these people seemed to think they were much smarter than most of the rest of us mere mortals, many of them are really not very bright, and they are teaching and influencing our children.

When you go into school tomorrow ask if you can address your kids class and give your opinion on hunting. Odds are that they will say no ,and most likely their reason will be, because some of the other parents, of kids in the class, might be against hunting and it would wrong for you to impose your position on their kids. Teachers only…LOL!

My daughter had a teacher do the same thing when she was in second grade.I called the teacher and calmly talked to her saying that she didn't have the right to voice her views and opinions on my child. After a short 1 minute conversation she was balling her eyes out and apologizing to me.I didn't let it stop there,I went to the principle(who coincidentally I went to school with......yea that made me feel old and I am only 38 now!!!!LOL) and made sure I didn't want any more personal view pushed towards my child.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to the school and make your voice heard and do not take no for a answer, just make sure you are calm and it will go the way you want it.If you don't get anywhere with the teacher,go to the principle,if you don't get anywhere with the principle go to the superintendent,if that fails call the local news and keep fighting!!

My wife is a teacher and so are a lot of my friends. They are like any other group, made up of all sorts of people with all sorts of different views. The way you guys group people together is the same way the anti's group us with the poachers and unethical hunters. Same mentality, just opposite sides of the fence.

I have the opposite problem. Teacher tells my daughter about all the deer her husband and sons are shooting. My Daughter comes home and questions why I don't get anything when I hunt...

But I would rather have my problem then yours.

Just wait until she goes to college where everyone forms a strong opinion. I am there now and it's incredible the crap some people spew. Firearm discussion came up this fall and ten hands shot up detesting firearms. Interesting seeing their faces when I brought up actual facts on firearms and information they don't hear from the media today. I have been lucky enough to have some educators in the past that are pro-gun and hunting so it isn't all of them. It would help if people actually knew facts and didn't spew garbage.

A neighbors children came home after the Sandy Hook tragdedy telling some things a teacher was saying in the classroom. So this year they are homeschooling there children, they don't like the liberal socialist agenda. Good Luck, You could ask what the district policy is on these type of issues!

My son had a teacher in high school that made him a homemade turkey box call. I thought that was pretty cool of him. Not all teachers are anti hunting.

This teacher needs, absolutely needs to be told that politicizing her class-room is not part of her mandate or job description. She must not be allowed off the hook.

And of course the kids still leave high-school unable to read properly. They have a cheek.

I would approach it this way and if necessary hire a lawyer or two... Don't let this slide!

Are you sure about this? I have raised 3 kids in the public schools systems here in NY and have several grandkids in school now, and personally know teachers and have dealt closely with my children's teachers throughout and have never heard of anything like this. Sure you might have a rogue nut animal loving teacher who might speak their mind but I wouldn't worry about anti hunting teachings becoming part of the NY state public school systems curriculum. I'll be the first to say we have some big problems with our schools and school taxes but teachers preaching anti hunting is never one I have encountered.

Last year my daughters teacher was doing a unit on nutrition. My daughter came home saying meat is bad for you blah blah blah. I was in the school in a meeting within 2 days. I asked the teacher why he would teach that kind of nonsense and it turned out he was on some fad type diet where he didnt eat meat and other things. After I told him that teaching my daughter about his diet choices was unacceptable, and contacting the principal, it stopped. All of a sudden she was bringing home real nutrition curriculum.

Just dont sit back, be proactive about it. Bring other parents in on it as well. Get school administration involved right off the bat.

Teachers are one of the most entitled spoiled brat occupations out there and NY has them so high up on a pedestal. 403b retirement, grievance protections, some of the highest ratings and wages in the country because their labor union affiliations. Just a joke. Obviously things vary district to district and class to class but many teachers I have met are so far from logically smart- just reciting the same crap annually. 160 work year in fantasy land. Ever wonder why your kids come home acting the way they do? because these people spend more time with them then we can and they tell them what they believe in is fact. By simple virtue of exposure it is easy to see the shift in America today has a lot to do with education. Look at how college kids are all liberals and then many slowly drift back right after being in the real world. Also agreeing with the comment above on this is a way to troll for what goes on at home. The same with doctors asking kids if their is guns at home. Their job is to teach future adults skills- not to give them what they feel the answers are.

By the way I am married to one and both my parents are teachers. My wifes teacher cohorts are the "hunting is gross....but I love veal" variety.

enjoy

My wife now teaches at an elite private school....one of my biggest joys is not getting phone calls all October suggesting who we vote for.

Name on occupation other than government where people are so protected despite poor performance? Okay- besides a weather man......

This sounds like one particular teacher who used bad judgement and discussed his/her own personal beliefs in the classroom.  I hunt with a bunch of guys who are all teachers.  I've never seen anything to suggest that teachers in general are against hunting or that schools have an anti-hunting agenda.  I think that a lot of guys on this forum are very anti-education and anti-teacher and that's why this thread is getting so much attention.
