First-light
Back then it was the same way for me. Now 25 years later it still is a great night but sleep is a priority.
Skillet
I don't get much sleep either. I'm awake every half hour or so, because I'm afraid of not hearing the alarm and being late to the woods. That'd be like the dream you have where you get to work before you realize you forgot to put pants on - unacceptable.

wooly
I've always fell asleep RIGHT after good sex and a ciggarette. We're all big boys here, so I can tell you plenty of other ways to tire yourself out if you're a single non smoker, lol

grampy
After more than 40 hunting seasons, I still am lucky to get 4 or 5 hours sleep the night before the opening of firearms season. I'm still a kid at heart!
fasteddie
I still have a difficult time falling asleep the night before deer season opens . Any other time I can go to sleep in a couple minutes .
chiefbkt
Im not sure the start drinking at 4 pm is something I'd do. But, A nice glass of single malt scotch about an hour before bed usually helps ease the nerves.
Jeremy K
It doesn't matter what time i go to sleep , i have no problem getting up to go hunting . However ,even if i got 20 straight hours of sleep and the alarm goes off on a work day , i just don't wanna roll out of the rack for work. Elmo
Zzz-quil helps a little bit of you can't fall asleep. They say it's safe but I wouldn't use it too often. I have used it before when I'm having a lot of trouble sleep and have an important day the next day. Melatonin is good but it's more to help you if you keep having interrupted sleep. Water Rat
I too have trouble falling asleep the night before opening day. I usually get a power nap on the couch so I don't wake up the wife.

Elmo
Have you tried Benadryl? That's what Zzz-Quil is. It's basically Benadryl but with only the stuff that knocs you out and not the other medical stuff.
